I love nature and everything wild (except mosquitos, they suck!). My favorite pass-times are hiking, snorkeling and amature photography.

I was born in South Africa and I lived there for 27 years of my life. After working in sales for most of my adult life, I finally decided to fulfill my dream of working with wildlife, so I went to Hungary where I got my undergrad in Wildlife Management. After learning more about the terrestrial wild species of our planet, I switched to the marine side. Now I am obtaining my masters in Marine Biology through an international Erasmus Mundus program called IMBRSea.

Although I am an introvert, I blossom in company where conversations of passions flow easily and where everyone can be themselves comfortably.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The reason I only became a couch surfer now after being part of this community for some years already, is because I would like to make the most of my time in Europe this time around. Just after my move to Hungary, Covid started and I was unable to explore as much as I wanted to. Now, however, because of the circumstances of my study program, I move around quite a bit, giving me even more freedom to see the surrounding countries. And as I am a student, budget traveling is my only option.

I have also grown to love the different cultural experiences in the various countries I have been to and I always enjoy learning about cultures and foods I have never been exposed to before.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most types of music. If it tells a good story, if the rhythm compels me to dance, or if the sounds calm my soul, I will most probably like it. However, I grew up listening to rock, so that is one of my favorite genres.

I like a wide variety of movies, however, animation and arty are my favorite.

I like fiction, adventure and fantasy when it comes to the books I read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have handled sharks and I have been less than 5 meters away from a momma bear and her 3 cubs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Latin and Ballroom dance moves (that includes salsa) and I love learning new dances.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my dance skills and just a little bit of my cooking skills. Although that is a more limited skill for me than I would like it to be ;) .
