Hi, I am Gülşah Pelin Arı, a Turkish student studying Architecture in Florence University by Erasmus programme. My passion is drawing, discovering new things and archiving them by drawing. I am also really into cinema, I cannot totally define myself as cinephile but I think my situation is close to that. When I am drawing my biggest inspirations are mostly from cinema and literature.. I love taking photos with my analog photograph machine, you can find some photos that I took in my profile. I play tennis for 10 years and dancing salsa, bachata for 2 years. Now, I am living in Florence, in an apartment near to city center, with my flatmate Emek, we both Turkish Erasmus students and really want to meet with people from different countries, cultures..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be in Florence until the end of July, so in this period I want to travel as much as possible, and also want to share my culture with other people, and have nice, unforgettable friendships there.

I love local musics, sometimes it is defined as "World music", exotic, traditional such as Bossa Nova, Ethno Jazz (one of my favourite musicians is Jorge Ben Jor, for example), Mulatu Astatke, Rasha etcetc

But I also love synthpop, electronic, darkwave, bedroom pop such as Moby, Kid Francescoli, Polo&Pan, Kit Sebastian etc

As books, I am interested in sociology literature, such as Baudrillard. As novels, I love Milan Kundera's books.

My favourite director is Abbas Kiarostami. Minimal scenes with deep poetic philosophic background..
