I am a 24-year-old university student/part time English teacher born and raised in Istanbul. My education is on language and I am trying to improve myself on learning languages. I may force you to teach me something in your language :) The reason I love learning languages is my curiosity to learn new cultures. Since the age of 15, I have been trying to travel alone as much as I can. I usually find different projects such as volunteering or working to stay longer in countries I visit. I can say that travelling and volunteering are my only dreams since childhood. Being in a different country and seeing different lifestyle really gives me peace. I think that my travels and the fact that I grew up in a big and multicultural city like Istanbul contributed a lot to my character. They say I'm very open-minded and easy to be friends with. You can get tired of my energy :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There are two reasons for me to be on Couchsurfing. The first reason is that couchsurfing is a great way to learn about different cultures. When visiting a country, meeting and spending time with a local helps me a lot to learn about its culture. It is not enough just to see the top ten touristic places on google. The second reason (I will be honest with you) is that I don't have a budget. As a Turkish student, traveling abroad is very costly for me and is the biggest obstacle to my travel. I work part-time during the year to save money for my travels but because of the currency (I suggest you to check, you will be surprised) it is really hard for me. Couchsurfing helps me a lot in my travels :')

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't think I have taste in music or movies. My Spotify playlist includes all kinds of songs. It is same for the movies. However, if you ask about my favorite movie, I can easily say Harry Potter. It is my comfort movie as I grew up with it.

I did sky-diving when I was just 15 years old in Cape Town without telling my mother!
