Overview
About Me
I’m Liza, originally from Saint Petersburg — the cultural capital of Russia. I completed a year-long exchange program in the United States, which was truly a life-changing experience. My love for travel has only grown stronger since then, and I’m continuing my journey with even more curiosity (and slightly better packing skills).
To support my travel bug — I work in the field of graduate employment and branding (because, sadly, flights and coffee aren’t free)
I study Public Policy and Analytics, and I plan to become an urbanist—someone who helps develop small towns and rural areas. Since I was 14, I’ve been traveling across Russia with friends, from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin Island. I’d love to share stories and insights about Russian culture and everyday life.
One of my favorite ways to explore new places is simply walking. I truly believe that the best way to get to know a city is on foot—whether it’s wandering aimlessly through quiet neighborhoods or power-walking through downtown with a purpose (especially food-related 😊).
Some dreams I’ve already checked off: seeing the Pacific Ocean, filming a vlog in Times Square, overnight stay at the airport.
I’m open-minded, curious, and always ready to dive into new cultures — with comfy shoes and a sense of humor.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It all started during my exchange year in the US, when I opened Couchsurfing. Some of my favorite travel memories (and strangest stories) began with CS.
This platform turned out to be more than just a place to crash—it became a way to connect with people, cultures and cities in the most human way. My passion for travel just keeps growing…
Interests
I’m interested in sport, workout, travelling, singing, cooking, hiking, walking, editing videos, photography, drawing, museums, theatres. Also, I like cats and dogs.

Music, Movies, and Books
My playlist jumps from Max Korzh to The Neighbourhood and everything in between.
I have a deep admiration for Joseph Brodsky.
I really fond of comedies and cartoons! Yura Borisov is one of my favorite actors, even before Hollywood noticed him. I admired his roles in Russian films for their depth, honesty and intensity.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I flew over 4,000 kilometers with three layovers, all for one reason: to finally see Max Korzh live. Spoiler alert — it got canceled.
That was actually the third time fate stepped between me and the concert of my dreams.
But instead of crying into my boarding pass, I lived my best spontaneous-traveler life.
Still chasing that dream—fourth time’s the charm?
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to present Russian culture by cooking traditional dishes, telling interesting stories and giving little presents from Russia; also my friends and I study foreign languages(Spanish, French). Also, I adore exploring cities by walking and hiking as a future urbanist I pay attention to architecture and different infrustructure.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m always happy to share good food, long walks, spontaneous adventures, and plenty of stories from my travels across Russia and beyond. I love cooking and can bring a bit of Russian flavor to your kitchen (literally), and I’m always down to explore new places; be it a hidden trail, a local museum, or your favorite neighborhood bakery.
I genuinely enjoy all kinds of activities: from hiking and street wandering to deep museum dives and trying things I’ve never done before. I love learning from others and sharing what I know in return. So whether we’re swapping recipes, playlist recommendations, or life philosophies, I’m in!
