I’m from New Zealand, but I’ve lived in the USA for almost 30 years. My 2 kids are out of the house now so it’s time to take advantage and do some traveling. I like the outdoors and grew up surfing and windsurfing. I played rugby in high school but realized I should stop before my knees got destroyed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Trying to find accommodation in Kailua Kona in October for a few days so I can watch my youngest compete in the Ironman. Have a few days booked at a hostel but it’s full up on for most of my dates.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went back to New Zealand for 18 months to reconnect with family and to travel some of the country I hadn’t seen and get back into surfing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I generally live in hood river Oregon and have a house and a spare bedroom there so could have couch surfing guests when I’m there. Could show local areas, lend a bike out to guests, enjoy cooking and eating. Show local kiteboarding areas etc.
I’m going back to New Zealand in mid October and have a camper van so could team up with someone for sightseeing hiking surfing etc.
