I'm Silvan, 22 years old and originally from Berlin, Germany. Right now I'm studying Geography. I started my Bachelor in Berlin, but studied one semester abroad in the beautiful Utrecht, NL. Before I spent one year in India with 'weltwärts' (voluntary service). Since then I loved to travel and can't really spent long time without it. I live a spontanious life: If something changes there will be another way, maybe even a better one. I live by this saying which also includes my inspiration to travel: "There is always away".

In my flat in Berlin I am more than welcome to host people on my couch.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanna find new ways of traveling, traveling with a private insight in a city, not just the obvious. I heard from friends using it and they told me incredible stories; stories that I want to tell someday.

I've been really into Techno since 2019. I mainly listen to either chill, melodic, or 'Berlin'/hard(er) Techno.
I also like to listen to Rap, and sometimes Indie. It really depends on my mood :D
I'm just starting to enjoy the art of reading; right now I'm reading "Why Nations Fail" by Acemoglu & Robinson but it's more specific geographic interest

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think in general the whole India experience. But mainly the integration into the local everyday life which gave me a very different insight in the culture than any tourist will have.

Sometimes to plan too strictly will reduce the quality of a trip. In the moment of planning how will you know what you want in 2 weeks or so? Go with the flow
