Overview
About Me
Fresh out of university, working finally!! Looking to go and explore the world through people and their stories. I grew up in a metropolitan city that is Hong Kong, studied in the UK for the past 4 years has allowed me to meet people from all around the world. I am a listener, a life time learner, just here to exchange experiences with others around the world :)
I am currently based in London (so any London Pals come my way!), trying to work my way into academia , being that women of colour in STEM, shattering the glass ceiling ;). I spend most of my times cutting brains, maintaining several hundred thousand £££ of equipment and hopefully, contributing to the scientific understanding of neurodegenerative disease. I am also a part time volleyball enthusiast and painter to off set the intense academic side of things.

Music, Movies, and Books
The true Gen Z that I am, I love some indie pop, rock! Bands such as Wallows, COIN, Sure sure, Artic Monkey's, then I divert to Cantonese pop, K pop and honestly, open to anything that vibes :)
Favourite films: Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993) lives in my mind rent FREE! Also love some documentaries about extreme sports like Kai Lenny, Free solo (Alex Honnold), North Face mountaineering docuseries!!!
As for reading, I dabble in many genres, historical fiction, fiction, non fiction. Recently dabbling in the post colonial sections, and some political themes.
Favourites books: Babel, Farenheit 451, Catcher in the Rye (true Gen Z rebel)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Believe in myself :)) Woke up and kept going everyday, take the little Ws ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
"Getting comfortable being uncomfortable" is something I live by. I always seek to put myself out there to be open to experiences, to constantly challenge my ideas. There is a saying in cantonese roughly translating to "being a flower in a green house", something I never want to be. I do believe that taking risks and letting go of control can be difficult but it is where I found the most valuable experiences. I would like to live the gospel I preach, and be able to challenge myself, to be open to the people around me, listen to their stories, to live life not only through my lens but through others. Now that, is the life I would never regret living.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my home cook cantonese meals, not to confuse yourself with your Chinese takeaways! I could share my love for painting/sketching and photography which I hope to do more while traveling. I am also a sports lover, I love kayaking (surfskis to be exact!!!), swimming, volleyball, Muay thai, could pass a few things on and have some good fun.
