Moin ussem Norden!
Auch wenn ich schon viel rumgekommen bin, im Herzen bin ich Norddeutsch. Ich bin teils in den USA in Österreich und in Deutschland aufgewachsen und studiere jetzt dort an der Universität Bremen Biologie.

Ich lebe für mein Fach! Ich es gibt keinen den ich kenne, der so lange wie ich einen einzelnen Baum betrachten kann, nur weil man hier und da noch wieder ein Pflänzchen, kleine Pilze oder Tierchen findet ;-) Zu Hause züchte ich leidenschaftlich Kakteen, Moose und ander Pflanzen, wobei ich mir am liebsten immer noch im elterlichen Garten die Zeit vertreibe. Dort widme ich mich allem erdenklichen Gewächs, hege und pflege es oder liege dann im Sommer in meiner Hängematte und lese. Oft versuche ich mir ausländische Natur ins Haus zu holen, wie etwa mit den Kakteen, doch das beste ist doch die Natur in der Ferne selbst zu erleben, zu spüren und zu fühlen.

Ich liebe das Reisen, bin gern unter Leuten und immer begeistert Sprachen und Schriften kennenzulernen, die mir vorher nicht bekannt waren. Ebensosehr bin ich an der Kultur interessiert, ich freue mich immer von alten Traditionen und mir unbekannten Bräuchen zu erfahren! Und über Essen brauche ich gar nicht erst zu reden! Ich liebe es! Neue Gerichte sind mir immer willkommen und ich suche immer nach etwas typisch lokalem, das mir einen mir unbekannten Gaumenschmaus bereiten kann! ;-)

Doch alldies wäre nicht halb so schön ohne meine Freundin Emily. Sie kommt aus England und wir haben uns nach der Schule auf einer Reise in Thailand kennengelernt und sind seitdem unzertrennlich. Zwar führen wir im Moment leider eine Fernbeziehung, da sie in Britannien studiert, aber trotzdem wollen wir schon jetzt so viel von der Welt sehen, wie wir nur können.

That´s how we greet in northern Germany where my heart still resides, even though I moved around a lot, grew up in Austria, Germany and even the US! Currently I am back in northern Germany though, doing my bachelors in Biology at the University of Bremen.

I live for my passion! There is no one I know who can gaze longer at a single tree ;-) The longer you look though the more lifeforms you can spot, and let me tell you, there is much more on a tree than it´s bark! Additionally to always loving being outdoors I grow cacti at home, not just a few but a few hundrets. Why am I doing that you wonder? I can´t tell you either! xD
What I can tell you though I love nature with all it's different life forms and therefore love being outdoors. There is nothing better than wandering around in foreign nature being infatuated by the beauty of nature and smells never tasted.

I love traveling, meeting new people along the way and learning their languages and cultures. Hearing peoples stories, learning about traditions never heared of and experiencing new food is great! I am always looking out for traditional and local dishes to tickle my tongue! ;-)

All of the latter though, wouldn't be half as good without my girlfriend Emily. Her being from England we met on a gap year in Thailand and are a couple ever since. Despite having a long distance relationship, as she studies in Britain, we try to see as much from the world as we can already.

Ich liebe zu reisen und andere Kulturen kennenzulernen, mit Menschen in Kontakt zu kommen und über deren Leben zu erfahren. Auf einer Reise nach Thailand habe ich die Liebe meines Lebens gefunden und jetzt will ich mit ihr die Welt entdecken! Immer offen für alles und jeden freue ich mich jederzeit neue Leute kennenzulernen. Ich freue mich auf euch!

I love travelling and getting to know to different cultures, so this seems like the best place for doing so! On my travel to Thailand I found my true love and we cannot wait to explore the world together! Always open for all and everyone, I am very much looking forward to meeting you guys out there!

Interests

Meine Interessen sind sehr vielseitig. Ich spiele zwar gerne Minecraft und Brettspiele mit anderen Menschen, bin aber meistens draußen anzutreffen. Von normalem Wandern über Klettern in Bergen und Höhlen bis hin zu Gärtnern und eigenen Töpferversuchen ist so ziemlich alles dabei. Meistens richte ich einfach nach dem Wetter: Scheint die Sonne bin ich quasi nie im Haus, regnet es hab ich viel Spaß an Spielen. Gerne lerne ich auch neues kennen, sei es drinnen, sei es draußen. ;-)

I love doing many things. Ranging from playing Minecraft and playing board games to outdoor activities like hiking, rock climbing and skiing. I very much go with the weather though. Is it sunny outside, I'll be outside, is it rainy, I'll stay in and play games or something. Always willing to learn and improve I'll gladly learn any new skill you guys can show me!

Music, Movies, and Books

Ich liebe Cornelia Funkes Bücher, habe aber auch gerne Harry Potter oder Percy Jackson gelesen.
Die Avatarfilme sind genial oder so etwas wie Inception. Ebenso Star Wars, Herr der Ringe und Dune, das mich direkt zum lesen des Buches animiert hat.

I love the books of the German author Cornelia Funke, who you might have never heard of, but it was also great joy reading stuff like Harry Potter or Percy Jackson.
Moviewise I love the Avatar movies, as well as movies twisting your mind like Inception. Star Wars and LOTR are amazing as well and the Dune movie inspired me to read it's book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ich bin einmal von der Stadt in der ich lebe bis ans Meet getrampt, nur als Tagesausflug. Das war sehr interessant und hat mir einiges gegeben. Man trifft so viele nette Menschen auf dem Weg und hört so viel interessantes!

I once hitchhiked from the city where I life to the sea, just as a day trip. I met so many different people just in that one day, it was amazing! So many nice people with so many different stories!

Teach, Learn, Share

Einen Großteil meines Lebens habe ich damit verbracht, Pflanzen großzuziehen und für diese zu sorgen, weshalb ich dahingehend durchaus helfen und Wissen weitergeben kann. Besonders bei gärtnerische Tätigkeiten, im Speziellen Obstbaumpflege und Schnitttechniken kann ich gerne helfen und Tipps geben.
Außerdem habe ich mich viel mit traditionellen Herstellungsverfahren und Handwerkskünsten diverser Art auseinandergesetzt, so kann ich etwa zeigen, wie und wo man Lehm findet um eigene Töpferei zu betreiben.

Ebenso koche ich gerne und kann das ein oder andere norddeutsche oder steirische Gericht zubereiten. Für Geschichtenerzählen und Kartenspiele bin ich auch immer zu haben, also es wird euch mit mir schon nicht langweilig werden. ;-)

I've spend a lot of the time of my life nurturing and caring for plants, therefore I can help a little with plant care. Especially garden care and cutting fruit trees the right way is something I can definitely help with and teach a few things about.
Also, I have taught myself some things about traditional ways of producing things and various craftsmanships, resulting in me being able to teach you things like where to find and process your own clay in order to make your own pottery.

Additionally, I like cooking and therefore could cook you some Northerngerman or Styrian meals. I do also like to tell you stories from my life or show you new card games or so. You definitely shouldn't get bored with me, as I will always come up with something extraordinary to do. ;-)
