I grew up in Dublin with my Dutch/Irish family, spending summer holidays camping. This is where my love for the outdoors and escapades began.

I feel very fortunate to have spent one incredible year couchsurfing, hitch hiking and busking through Central and South America with my wonderful partner, Benedict. Having studied musicology, I now work for a charity campaigning for environmental and cultural sustainability in the music industry.

We are now based in the epic city of Bristol where are very happy to host couchsurfers, and escape on long weekends to explore the rest of this island!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't particularly remember the hostels I have stayed in, but I will never forget my couchsurfing experiences.
This year is a dream come true, and it is made mostly by the people I have been meeting through couch surfing. So far, we have been using my boyfriends account (Benedict Robinson), but I wanted to make my own account so that I can host when I live in the Netherlands next year. Seeing cities through a locals eye has been priceless. We love going off the beaten track, or the 'Gringo highway', as we have christened it. We have made lifelong friends as we have travelled, sometimes extending our stay because we have enjoyed the company so much.

I'm not a massive movie or TV person - I fall asleep too quickly to get to the end of most of them! Some that come to mind though are Parasite and Peep Show.

I adore reading but do have an admission to make... I have never read or seen Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings... don't judge me too harshly...
