About Me
Olá! I'm Otu, from Brazil — a traveler, messenger, and eternal student of the world.
For the past 10 years, I’ve been on a life journey across more than 33 countries, connecting with people, cultures, and landscapes through a project rooted in purpose and freedom. I’m a vegan chef, ecological farmer, musician, and dancer, deeply committed to a more just and conscious society.
I studied Agroecology at the University of Amazonas and have worked with permaculture, syntropic agriculture, and the creation of ecological gardens. I’m currently writing a children’s book about environmental awareness while continuing my journey across the globe.
What drives me is curiosity, connection, and the magic of shared experiences. I love meaningful conversations about the mysteries of nature, literature, freedom, and what it means to be truly human. Whether it’s over tea, music, food, or just silence under the stars, I believe in exchanging stories that nourish the soul.
I’m sociable, positive, respectful, and always happy to help out, cook a delicious meal, or bring some rhythm and good energy to the space.
If you resonate with kindness, open-mindedness, and exploration—let's connect. The world is big, but kindness makes it feel like home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that the most meaningful part of travel isn’t just about places — it’s about people. Sharing stories, meals, music, and moments with locals is the most beautiful way to understand a culture and grow as a human being.
As someone who has been traveling for years with purpose and curiosity, I see Couchsurfing as a space where true exchange can happen — beyond money, beyond tourism. It’s about generosity, learning, and building a more connected and compassionate world, one couch and conversation at a time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My journey has taken me to sacred places across the Earth, but it was the inner silence that taught me the most.
In Brazil, during a healing ceremony with Indigenous communities in the Amazon, I was introduced to the wisdom of medicinal plants. I realized the forest is not just a place — it is a living intelligence. I learned that true listening is not just physical, but spiritual. That wisdom doesn’t only come from books, but from the cycles of nature, the songs of birds, the patience of the soil, and the silent presence of elders. It was there that I understood I’m not just traveling the world — I’m returning to myself.
In India, in Varanasi, I witnessed life and death walking side by side on the banks of the Ganges. For several mornings, I sat by the river at sunrise, observing the cremation rituals and feeling deep reverence for what we cannot control. Impermanence was no longer an idea — it became real. A sadhu (holy man) who lived with almost nothing taught me that true freedom lies not outside, but in the absence of fear. We meditated under a tree, and he simply told me: “You are not here to understand. You are here to be.”
In Egypt, walking alone in the Sahara Desert, I learned the power of emptiness. There are no distractions there — just you, the sky, and the wind. The vastness of the desert taught me to trust. In the silence, I could hear my own footsteps clearly. I slept with Bedouins, heard stories that will never be written, and felt the wisdom of nomadism — not just geographical, but existential. I learned that resistance to the system can also be an act of beauty: to live simply, to live lightly, to live truthfully.
These places were not just dots on a map. They were mirrors. Each one taught me something about what it means to be human: to stay connected, to listen to the Earth, to serve with heart, and to keep walking — even when you don’t know exactly where you’re going.
Teach, Learn, Share
What I can teach, learn and share:
I can teach what I’ve learned through experience: how to grow food in harmony with nature, how to cook vibrant plant-based meals, how to live with less and feel more. I can share my knowledge of agroecology, permaculture, and holistic living — but also music, dance, and the power of ritual as a way to reconnect with the soul.
I’m always open to learn — from people, places, cultures, and stories. I want to keep learning about traditional knowledge, alternative ways of living, emotional intelligence, healing practices, and spiritual philosophies that guide us toward a freer and more compassionate world.
What I most love to share is presence, good energy, open-hearted conversations, and a sense of wonder about this planet we all call home. Whether it’s through working with the land, preparing a meal, or simply sitting in silence together, I believe every moment holds the potential to become something sacred — when shared with love and intention.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share nourishing plant-based meals, deep conversations, and good music — whether through instruments, movement, or spontaneous rhythm. I’m happy to offer help with gardening, cooking, cleaning, or simply bringing positive energy into the space.
I can share stories from my journey across four continents, reflections on nature, freedom, and spirituality, and practical knowledge in agroecology, permaculture, and ecological living. I also enjoy creating peaceful, beautiful spaces and can help bring harmony and care to any home or environment.
But most of all, I can share presence — my full attention, my hands, my heart. I believe that every exchange is sacred, and I offer myself with gratitude and humility.
