Hey, we are Hans & Laura, a couple from Germany who quitted their jobs and apartment to travel through South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand before heading back to Germany and start working.

About Laura:

In general, I'm a pretty outgoing person. I can be a bit shy at first, but once I get to know people a bit better, we can have a lot of fun together. I love meeting my friends for a coffee/tea and talking about all sorts of things.
What I liked in Germany was trying new things in the kitchen, whether it was cooking or baking. (trying to find the best banana bread receipt)
I'm also more of a nature lover than a city lover (mountains, beaches) I like to stay in quiet places rather than tourist spots and have my own experience away from any touring events. :)
I am a very good listener and I am always happy to help if necessary.
I love asian food - especially vietnamese food!
Before we started our journey, I finished my master's degree in economics and worked as a student trainee in auditing.

About Hans:

I'm a pretty open-minded guy and I'm interested in a lot of things. My credo is that you can't judge something you haven't tried - especially when it comes to food 😅. After finishing high school, I was lacking a definite plan of what to do next, so I joined the military as a medic for 2 years. After that I studied economics and psychology and started working in HR for an IT company. I quickly realised that this was not the perfect fit for me, so I switched to IT Project Management. I love talking to people and exploring nature. Due to my job and my interest in computers, I spend far too little time outdoors enjoying nature - a fact that needs to change😅.
I'm currently obsessed with one of my childhood hobbies: minerals. I have a strong desire to do some digging and go fossicking again⛏️👷.

I would also describe myself as a very helpful and polite person. There's more to say, but writing about yourself is always a bit awkward, so let's talk about the rest in person. 😅

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To get in touch with local people and learn something about the way they live. And to stay a little bit abroad the classic tourist path.

Interests

Since Covid we love hiking! The last three years we spend our holidays in Bavaria and Austria to take a break from city life, work and studies and enjoy nature in the mountains.

Laura’s description: I like to try new sports. I have played basketball, volleyball and handball. I also like swimming, inline skating, table tennis and more.
In the cold winter months I like to do jigsaw puzzles and binge-watch on Netflix. 😄
