After my studies in biology and after covid in 2022 I decided to travel again and leave my home country with the intention not to come back soon. So far I spent two years in Australia working, traveling and living in a tiny van, good times. Now that my visa expires I have to leave the country. Indonesia is my next destination. Many people, including my family and my self, asked me what i want to do with my adult life and how am I going to earn a living. My answer is always unsatisfying because I DO NOT KNOW. What I know is that I want to travel the world and see different cultures and ways of living. I like the change and the challenge of a new adventure. I also think taking my time and travel slow, like with a bike, a boat or by foot, suits me more than the fast paste of tourism. I recently discovered for myself the Vipassana meditation and think it gave me a lot of insight and truth about myself. So I like the silence and the path of spirituality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to meet the local people. Instead of going to a hostel where everyone is likely from a different part of the world (also nice in other situations) I am able to get another real perspective of the place I am visiting. At this point like to share my travels and if possible have a more meaningful encounters rather than a superficial chat. Also I like the way of minimalistic travel, where money plays a secondary role.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Before I traveled to Australia I bought myself a kayak and filled it up with camping gear. Then for four month, two month of them I stayed at hosts to volunteer, I paddled down the Rhain from the lake Constance to Duesseldorf and from there through channels into the North Sea and later into the Baltic sea and back to the lakes of Meklenburg-Vorpommern. Was awesome. Just me, my kayak and the river. Simple life with simple problems and simple solutions.

I love to learn about all kind of craft and art. I also would like to learn how to sail a boat. I also want to improve my spanish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I recently manged to cook "Spaetzle mit Linsen" a traditional dish of the south west of Germany, happy to introduce you to the culinary cornerstones of my people. I do also have a nice voice and some skill on my ukulele, which is always fun on a campfire. Besides that, there is a lot to learn and teach i never thought bout before.
