Exploring the world—its natural beauty, its people, its culture—and learning about myself, making friends, and simply having a good time, traveling is an incredibly enriching experience. I believe it can be a great hobby, offering more than just a vacation. You can learn so much about yourself and the world around you, gaining an appreciation for other cultures.

But I'm afraid the best traveling experience is subjective and depends on one's preferences. I was there for work, but I made sure to take some time for myself to explore the area. I stumbled upon a quaint little trattoria where I had the most delicious meal of my life. The owner, a charming old man, shared with me his secret recipe for the sauce, which had been passed down through generations. We ended up chatting for hours, and I left feeling like I had made a new friend. It was a simple moment, but it reminded me of the beauty of connecting with people and the joy of discovering new places.

So, while I can't say for certain what the best traveling experience is, I can say that some of the most memorable ones come from the unexpected connections we make along the way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One summer night there was a thunderstorm that blew in quickly, me and my best friend stayed outside to watch it roll in before any major rain started to fall. I will never forget the bright flash of light as a lightning bolt hit the spire of the Building. The crack of thunder that followed seemed unearthly, and we quickly scrambled inside. Both of us were in awe of what we had just seen. A perfect display of the power of nature vs. a man made giant.

I learned that all around the world, people tend to have the same basic needs and desires; we have much more in common with each other than we tend to think. I learned to trust strangers instead of fearing them, and I learned to have a more positive outlook on the world.
