Hey, I’m Al. I’m a coastal kid, but I’ve got a thing for the mountains too - especially when there’s snow involved. I love to surf, snowboard, hike, camp, spearfish, and take off on motorycle adv trips whenever I get the chance. If it involves being outside and moving around, I’m into it.

For work, I’m a chemist focused on environmental protection - I care a lot about nature and try to live in a way that reflects that. I also am currently going to grad school to be a GIS analyst - I've got a thing for maps.

I’m really into the design process and building things, and figuring out how stuff works (or fixing it when it doesn’t). I'm politically active and community-focused . I'm passionate about food justice, animal welfare, anti-war efforts, and direct action supporting local movements.

I’ve been living in a van for the last five years, which has its ups and downs, but overall it’s been an amazing way to travel, meet people, and keep life simple. I’m friendly, easygoing, and always curious to learn something new or hear someone’s story.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m here to meet new people, share experiences, and connect with others who are into the same kinds of things — especially outdoor adventures. I’m always looking for good surf spots, mountain escapes, and people who are down to ride, hike, camp, or just hang out.

Also, Florida isn’t exactly full of snowboarders and mountain bikers, so I’m hoping Couchsurfing helps me find more like-minded folks.
