Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A while ago my dad was on a trip in the city of München, his return ticket was on a specific date but he suddenly received a call from one of his coworkers to come back in France because his work was needed him the day after.
He’s worried, knows he needs to change his ticket quickly before all the train is full so he goes to the train station, unfortunately he doesn’t know how to speak German and no one in the railway station is able to talk to him in French, internet wasn’t a thing he couldn’t use some translating app and he didn’t think about bringing his dictionary.
He is kind of desperate, all his acquaintance who knows how to speak French and German are at work and he really needs to change his ticket, he’s about to exit the train station more lost than he was before and then he heard someone calling his name, he looks around him with confusion because no one calls him by that name except his closest relatives so he’s stunned that maybe someone has the same surname as him and he sees the big brother of his best friend, they both didn’t know that they were in München so he helped my father to change his ticket.
I think about this story quite often, how incredible that is that at your loneliest moment in a country you doesn’t speak and understand the language a person that you love and trust is in the same place as you. It’s never the one you imagine, always a surprise so I want to travel as much as possible to maybe one day be this person for someone, the more people I meet the more things I learn and I feel so blessed that this is an opportunity with some dispositive like couch surfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I was about to take a train to the city of Lille but the railway station was far away from my house.
While I was on my way, my train to go to the train station stopped at the middle of the road and let us came down, I was so sad because I really wanted to go to Lille that night and this was the last train. Then I just realized that the app BlaBlaCar could be my solution so I open it and found a trip at the exact same place I was standing, I was amazed by the coincidence but couldn’t book the trip because the driver was about to go and I couldn’t message him either, there was only his name and car model.
I thought about how it was my last chance to go to Lille tonight, googled the reference of his car and found the courage to knock on his window, we finally drove together to the city we wanted to go and had the best days in Lille !
