About Me

Hi there, I’m Abhinav — welcome to my world! 🌍

I was born and raised in Jaipur, India — a city known for its vibrant colours, royal heritage, and timeless hospitality. It’s a place where the doors are always open, and guests are treated like family. That same spirit lives in me wherever I go.

Now, I live in Chelmsford, a beautiful, peaceful town nestled on the outskirts of London — just about 35 minutes from Liverpool Street by train. Though quieter than the capital, Chelmsford offers a refreshing blend of green spaces, riverside walks, local markets, and a genuine sense of community that you won’t always find in a big city. I like to call it “James World” — a place where I recharge, reflect, and share moments with people from all walks of life.

I’m a medical doctor by training and currently pursuing my Master’s in Public Health at Anglia Ruskin University. I’ve also lived in China, where I completed my MBBS from Nanjing Medical University. These international experiences have given me not just a career path but a deeper appreciation for cultures, languages, and everyday human stories.

If you’re visiting London and looking for an authentic, offbeat experience — one that goes beyond tourist landmarks — I warmly invite you to Chelmsford. Though I live in a student accommodation and cannot host overnight, I’d be more than happy to meet you for a walk around town, share stories over a warm meal, and help you explore this lesser-known gem of Essex. Whether it’s the riverside, the charming cafes, the local cathedral, or simply watching the sunset over a quiet park — Chelmsford has a way of slowing time and deepening connection.

For those heading to India, especially Jaipur, my family and I would be more than happy to welcome you. We have hosted people from all over the world at our home, and we’d be honoured to extend the same warmth and care to you. Whether you’re drawn to India’s rich culture, curious about everyday life, or just looking to experience home-cooked food and meaningful company — our doors are always open.

Travel is not just about places; it’s about people. And I’d love to be a part of your story — either here in the UK or back in India. So, if you find yourself in London and have a few hours to spare, I’d truly love for you to come explore James World with me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve always dreamed of making friends from around the world and exploring places through their eyes. Couchsurfing is the perfect platform to build those friendships. If you’re ever in Jaipur, I’d love to help you discover hidden spots, local experiences, and Rajasthan’s beautiful handicraft culture. It’s not just about travel — it’s about connection.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy Indian music and films — anything with soul, rhythm, or meaning. I’m not much into reading books, but I love listening to podcasts, especially about travel, language, and personal growth.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning the Chinese language truly changed my life — it opened my mind, boosted my confidence, and sparked a deep passion for learning languages and understanding different cultures.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m a Chinese language teacher and love sharing what I know. I’m also eager to learn Spanish next! I’d be happy to exchange languages and introduce my friends to Indian culture, food, and traditions. Sharing knowledge and learning together is something I value deeply.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m happy to share stories from my life and my language-learning journey. I also love talking about Indian traditions, my time in China, and how exploring new cultures has shaped who I am.
