Overview
About Me
I am a very easygoing and curious person who loves to travel, learn about the world and its different cultures, and play sports and stay active through yoga, volleyball, basketball, running, scuba diving, surfing, and hiking. I love nature and animals and am an avid birdwatcher. Currently, I'm a board member for the Chicago Bird Alliance, a non-profit that serves to protect birds and their environments in and around Chicago. For work, I am a criminal prosecutor for Cook County, Illinois. One of my greatest passions in my work is defending the victims of violent crimes, particularly women and children.
Traveling is one of my favorite hobbies and it is more of a way of being for me. I've backpacked across many countries (usually solo). My two big trips were in 2024 (a 6-month trip in Asia) and in 2022 (a 5-month trip in South America).
I got onto Couchsurfing in 2025 when I moved into my current apartment which has an additional guest room to stay tapped into the traveler's spirit. My mission is to provide a safe and clean home away from home because I know how important that can be on the road. Also, I want to give back since I have been treated so kindly as a guest when visiting other people's countries and cities. Finally, I got on CS for the cultural exchange and to hopefully leave you with a positive impression of Chicago and the U.S.
Instagram is bobbie.irvin if you want to check me out on there!
I can only speak English fluently but I speak a bit of Spanish so we can communicate in that language if you are more comfortable!
