I live and work in Basel, a relaxed, nice city on the Rhine that I like a lot! I love to travel, to explore new cities, go for beautiful hikes and to meet people along the way. I enjoy spending time in nature (hiking, camping..) just as much as in big, bustling cities, visiting interesting art exhibitions, going to concerts or underground raves. Always up for some independent, underground cultural happening..!:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used couchsurfing more than ten years ago on some Interrail trips and then forgot a bit about it. Now I'd like to use it to meet people while travelling. I just find it so much more interesting to explore a place with people who live there and know it well than just being a "tourist".
At the moment I want to improve my italian so I would love to spend some time with locals in Italy. You can also contact me for a stay in Basel. Sometimes I'm too busy to have time for guests, then I prefer to not host, but at others I could accomodate you, provide infos on my town and even spend some time with you exploring Basel, if you wish.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to discover new music from all over the world at small live shows in my town or while travelling. If you want to have an idea of my taste of music when it comes to better known artists: the last five vinyls I bought are by Tamikrest, Patti Smith, St. Vincent, Fontaines D.C. and Arab Strap.
I love the small, independent cinemas in my town and try to attend local film festivals when I can, otherwise I don't watch a lot of movies or series.
I try to read new publications, fiction as well as non-fiction, on feminism, ecology and other topics I can relate to and want to learn more about.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This summer, I travelled through Montenegro and Albania for a month - it was amazing and I met so many interesting, open minded people and did some wonderful, impressive hikes!

I'm particularly interested in languages so I always love to improve the languages I speak (at the moment I'm focusing on Italian), to learn new words in new languages and to help you with German, French or English. And I love food and to discover new dishes!
