About Me
Hi, I'm Yuki.

⚠️⚠️ ⚠️
I’m currently working in Luoyang, very close to Longmen High-Speed Railway Station, but ⚠️ because I stay in the company dormitory, I can’t offer accommodation. ⚠️ However, if you’d like me to introduce local specialties, visit a Chinese medicine clinic, have some tea and chat about traditional Chinese culture, or go for a walk around Longmen Grottoes, I’d be happy to. I’m in Luoyang for 12 days each month, and the rest of the time I go back to Shenyang to take care of my two cats. Anyway, I hope you have a great trip.
Most friends call me Tang, which means "sweetness" – like warmth that nurtures the soul.
I’m fiercely optimistic! ⚠️ As an asexual person, please do keep this in mind –
I hold my own beliefs and principles close.
Yet it doesn’t stop me from exploring the world, embracing new experiences, or warmly welcoming friends!
I’m a "glocal" practitioner,
hosting a podcast [🔗https://podcasts.apple.com/cn/podcast/%E6%81%B0%E5%A5%BD%E6%88%91%E7%9F%A5%E9%81%93-%E5%94%90%E6%9C%9D%E7%9A%84%E9%80%80%E4%BC%91%E7%94%9F%E6%B4%BB/id1803996497?i=1000702127672] where I interview fascinating people – my work takes me to exciting places around the world.
I’m also a licensed TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) clinician.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
About Why I Want to Be a Couchsurfer Host
As a person who doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, goes to bed early and loves cats, it seems that the reasons not to be a couchsurfer host far outweigh those to be one. So, I’ve decided to seriously write about why I want to be a couchsurfer host.
In my life, there’s a very special friend. We met in the winter of 2022. Because of her humility, composure, and rich experiences, I always thought that if we had the chance to meet again, we could have a good chat. However, soon after, she started traveling around the world and continues to do so to this day.
I also consider this a way to express my kindness to the world. Although I am not a traditional couchsurfer host, nor a traditional couchsurfer guest.
But this doesn’t contradict my interestingness and kindness. I am a medical educator and practitioner with extensive reading experience. Because my job for decades has involved traveling around the country, I can’t really define myself as a travel enthusiast.
I’ve published a book as a gift to myself for my 30th birthday, titled “Dream List.”
Currently, I’m planning my new book and podcast and would love to hear everyone’s suggestions. In my professional field, I once had over a million followers, who were all traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) doctors. I was the teacher of their essential medical exam courses. This job brought me a lot of stress and sub-health issues, which led me to focus on running a TCM clinic and continuously maintain my health through fitness and wellness practices. This is also why I look relatively young.
As I grow older, I find that time and space become less and less significant to me, with minimal impact. What usually touches me is people.
I can listen, and I can provide you and your family with a quiet resting space. Or when you need to adjust your body, I can also offer some advice or help using acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal decoctions, etc.
I can’t always provide accommodation because my parents occasionally come to stay with me. But if it’s convenient, we can have tea, coffee, and chat together… I can also accompany you to exhibitions, skiing, and so on…
If your body needs adjustment, just let me know. The doctors in my clinic can provide treatment. Some services are free, while others require payment for the doctors’ manual costs.
I have two cats at home…
I occasionally paint some Chinese paintings.
Since I’ve taught the course “Appreciation of Chinese Traditional Culture and Classical Literature” in university, if you’re interested in Chinese culture, TCM, tea, calligraphy, painting, books, movies… horse riding, skiing, sports, Tai Chi… we can exchange ideas.
The above is my basic situation. I believe in Buddhism and respect other religions and beliefs.
Wishing everyone a pleasant journey~
Also looking forward to and cherishing every encounter!

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a fondness for classical music, including piano, guqin (ancient Chinese zither), and pipa (Chinese lute), among others. As for movies and books, I don’t limit myself to any particular genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most meaningful things I have done are raptor rescue and the planning and organization of some glacial activities.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll use my limited language skills and great enthusiasm to share with you every aspect of traditional Chinese culture – including the tea ceremony, calligraphy, authentic Chinese herbal medicine, our native wildlife, Chinese folk customs, and more – to the best of my ability.
