About Me

Hi! I'm Jacob!

I’m currently traveling for a month with Eli and Åsmund, my sister and brother (in law!), around Vietnam and Laos. I joined them for a month on their honeymoon trip and we are having the greatest time just exploring and learning about the new places we get to visit everyday 🙌🏼

They both are medical workers and I am just finishing my career in Audiovisual Comunications. We are very curious and see couchsurfing as a very real way of traveling :)

(My profile)

I did my first couchsurfing in 2024 (on my birthday!) when I was in my Erasmus. After that, I came back hitchiking with a close friend from the erasmus for two weeks, doing couchsurfing anytime we could. That really left an imprint on my way of percieving what it means to travel, and was one of the best experiences of my life!

I’m interested in art, especially cinema, photography, and videography. I really enjoy going to music concerts and festivals. If you see me on public transport, I'll probably be reading a comic.

I make a life making tutorial videos for a company, I love all the possibilities the audiovisual world offers and I really enjoy seeing others express themselves through art.

I love to chat and I'm pretty social—I’m always open to learning new things and skills, and if there’s a dog or a cat around, you can bet I’ll be petting it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy sharing stories, learning from others, and maybe picking up a few new skills along the way!

I really like about other people's creative journeys. Whether it’s exploring the city together, chatting over coffee, or just exchanging travel tips, I’m excited to connect with like-minded people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'd say Daft Punk is my all time favourite group. I like The Strokes, La Élite and Charli XCX. Lately I've been getting into ambient music. The song I'm listening to as I write this is Satellite Towers by Sora. My favourite songs are in this playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2q3LtwKxnZr7wKRb5JdDY6?si=79dfb538d5fa42f3

About movies, my all time fave is Todo sobre mi madre, by Almodóvar, up with Les glaneurs et la glaneuse by Vardà, La Haine by Kassovitz and Estiu 1993 by Clara Simón.

I honestly don't think a favourite book. I take the comic Same difference by Derek Kirk Kim as a tradition in many of my trips. I like short stories a lot and right now I'm reading el Entierro de la Sardina (Spanish book) in the sleeper bus, really enjoying it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sometimes incrediblity reigns in the simple stuff. Tasty, homemade and a little extrambotic. That's how my cakes are.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to play some Spanish card games, draw together, do a Sudoku race or some hiking.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer an evening of cooking, and specially decorating a nice cake, and then eat it all in one sitting :D

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Lithuania, Spain
