Overview
About Me
¡Hola! I’m Edwin — born and raised in sunny San Salvador, El Salvador 🇸🇻 and now living in slightly-less-sunny Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪 since I was 19. I’m 28 now, so I’ve spent almost a decade learning how to survive winter, pronounce “sjuksköterska,” and fall in love with fika.
Fitness is a big part of my life — I started with weightlifting and bodybuilding, but lately, I’ve embraced calisthenics to improve my mobility and just feel more ninja-like overall.
Before moving into the world of logistics and sustainability (what I study now), I spent over 5 years working as a chef. That kitchen was a mini United Nations — I met amazing people from all over: Uzbekistan, Korea, Mongolia, Poland, Ukraine, you name it. It gave me a real passion for cooking, cultures, and stories.
I’m a curious soul who loves hiking, deep talks over mate or wine, cooking for friends, and collecting books in multiple languages like they’re Pokémon. I live with my amazing Italian girlfriend, so yes, we argue over whether parmesan belongs on everything (spoiler: it does).
Si hablas español comencemos por ahí y di Hola!😄
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe in people. I love the idea of travel not just being about places, but about faces and stories. Couchsurfing is the perfect way to connect with others, learn, grow, and maybe even find a new song or dish that changes your life a little.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Techno, rock, romantic ballads, reggaeton for dancing in the kitchen, Italian classics, and Spanish hits. Basically, if it has rhythm and heart — I’m into it.
Movies: Comedy, rom-coms (I’m not ashamed), and anything that makes me laugh or think. Bonus points if it does both.
Books: I’m building a library of personal development and motivational books — in 4 or 5 languages. Got a good recommendation? Let’s trade favorites!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I packed up my life at 19 and moved from El Salvador to Sweden — alone, excited, and totally underdressed for the weather. That leap changed everything.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can teach you how to cook a bomb Latin American meal, share workout tips, or show you the basics of calisthenics — or how to survive Swedish winter as a Latin guy.
Learn: I’m curious about other people’s cultures, daily routines, values, and dreams. Teach me how to cook your favorite dish or show me a local hidden gem — I’m in!
Share: Deep talks, music, good food, and plenty of laughs. Also open to sharing a book, some mate, or helping out in the kitchen.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I bring good vibes, good food, and (hopefully) good conversation. I’m tidy, respectful, and curious — always happy to help out, share a meal, or just hang out and listen to music. You’ll probably get some homemade food out of the deal too. And maybe a new workout move or two 😉
