Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is very interesting to travel to a place and share the reality of the people there, get out of the tourist bubble and have an experience that is worthwhile for me and the other person. I am looking to share good travel experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have some memories that now seem like great anecdotes, but at the time, they were exciting adventures:

For example, I swam with piranhas and dolphins in the Amazon River 🇨🇴.
I partied with locals and ended up dancing Forró Brasileiro and drinking cachaça. E morei em uma república federal estudantil na maravilhosa cidade de Ouro Preto 🇧🇷.
I rented a car with two great friends, explored beautiful small towns, and, without realizing it, we ended up in the snow. On our way back, we got stuck for a few hours until some wonderful people rescued us in the south of 🇨🇱.
I escaped to find a place I had always dreamed of, and it turned out to be even better than I had imagined. I’m talking about Český Krumlov in the south of 🇨🇿.

But beyond traveling, one of the most incredible things I’m doing now is diving into the adventure of pursuing a PhD (yes, full-on nerd scientist mode 🤓👨🏻‍🔬🧬). Seeing the world through a microscope and trying to understand how organisms work—organisms that we rarely think about but have been here long before us and will likely remain long after.

At the end of the day, life is about this: making the impossible no longer so. 🌍

I can talk about science things (biochemistry), also Portuguese or Spanish. I would like to learn about the culture or the place where I travel and I like to share travel stories, my culture, a good coffee or a drink or food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be happy to help with language practice or exchange conversations in any languages I speak. I can accompany you in a time of good stories and I can always buy pizza or drinks.
