Über mich

Hello! I’m Orkhan.
I live in Baku. I have a master's degree in law and currently work as a lawyer. For the past 14 years, I have worked as a legal professional in courts and law firms. At present, I am working as a lawyer at the United Nations Office in Azerbaijan.

I love traveling, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. Reading books, discovering interesting places, and making new friends are important to me. The main reason I joined Couchsurfing is to meet people from different countries, learn about their traditions, cuisine, and lifestyle, and improve my English and other language skills.

I have traveled to Turkey, Georgia, France, Hungary, Slovenia, Ukraine, and Italy for work, education, and tourism. In the future, I plan to visit Jordan, China, Japan, Germany, Bosnia, and many other countries.

Languages: I speak Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, and Russian.

What I Can Offer to Guests
A taste of Azerbaijani cuisine
Tours of Baku and historical sites in the area
Trips around the country in my personal car (with prior arrangement)
My home is located 8 km from the city center, but it is conveniently near Xalqlar Dostluğu and Ahmedli metro stations. There are also bus stops, supermarkets, pharmacies, hospitals, and other essential places nearby. My home is well-equipped with heating and cooling systems, a constant water and gas supply, kitchen appliances (Airfryer, Kettle), sports equipment, a workspace, and even a PlayStation.

Since I work until 5 PM on weekdays, it is best to plan any trips or activities in advance.

Who I Host
I prefer to host solo travelers who are neat, responsible, friendly, and communicative. If you want to explore local life in Baku and have a great experience, I would be happy to host you! 😊

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I joined Couchsurfing because I love meeting new people from different cultures and learning about their traditions, languages, and cuisines. Traveling has always been a passion of mine, and I believe that connecting with locals provides the most authentic experience. Hosting guests allows me to introduce them to Azerbaijani culture, share stories, and create meaningful friendships. Additionally, I see Couchsurfing as a great opportunity to improve my English and learn other languages while exchanging ideas with people from around the world

Musik, Filme und Bücher

My favorite music includes a mix of genres, from classical to modern pop and jazz. I enjoy listening to different styles depending on my mood. When it comes to movies, I love thrillers, action films, and documentaries, as they give me a deeper understanding of the world. As for books, I’m passionate about legal and business literature, but I also enjoy novels, historical books, and works related to philosophy and personal development.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Once, my friends and I decided to travel to the northern regions of Azerbaijan, planning to visit historical and culturally rich places like Sheki, Gakh, and Gabala.

Sheki:

We began our journey in the ancient city of Sheki. Our first stop was the famous Sheki Khan's Palace. The vibrant stained glass windows, intricate patterns, and mosaics inside the palace left us in awe. Later, we explored the Lower Caravanserai, where we examined local artisans' crafts and engaged in interesting conversations with them.

Gakh:

Next, we headed to Gakh. There, we visited the Ram Rama Waterfall and found tranquility in the serene nature. We also explored Sumur Fortress and the Ulu Bridge, delving into the region's rich history.

Gabala:

Our final destination was Gabala. At the Tufandag Complex, we enjoyed the breathtaking views of the mountains and relaxed amidst nature. We also took a stroll around Nohur Lake, experiencing the harmony of peace and nature.

This trip allowed us to closely explore the historical and cultural wealth of Azerbaijan's northern regions, as well as the beauty of its nature. Additionally, connecting with local people and learning about their lifestyles added a special touch to our journey.
