About Me
I am a traveler from Yunnan, China, passionate about exploring the world and experiencing different cultures. On my journeys, I not only love capturing beautiful moments with my camera but also enjoy delving into local history, art, and cuisine. I have a fondness for reading, which allows me to discover unique stories in every unfamiliar place, and I also love cooking—using food to convey warmth and emotion. I speak English as well. As a couchsurfer, I always maintain cleanliness and courtesy while respecting every host’s lifestyle. I believe that traveling is not just about sightseeing; it is also an exchange of hearts and cultures. I look forward to experiencing the warmth and friendliness of your home and hope to add a touch of Yunnan’s charm to your life. Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a storyteller who carries the misty mountains of Yunnan in my soul, I believe travel is about weaving invisible threads between hearts. My most cherished chapter began in a UNICEF tent, teaching math to children displaced by landslides. When a girl drew equations in the dirt saying "Numbers are my passport to tomorrow,"I realized education isn’t just books—it’s the art of igniting dignity through shared humanity. This is why Couchsurfing calls to me: it’s a classroom without walls.
Through my lens, wok, and well-worn volunteer notebooks, I want to exchange soul-nourishing gifts. Let me share how Yunnan’s tea farmers use Pu’er tea cakes as community currency, or cook a wild herb soup that healed homesick students in our UNICEF camp. In return, I yearn to learn your grandmother’s proverbs that comforted hard winters, or help plant the seeds of your local social initiatives—because I’ve seen how small acts stitch together a quilt of hope across borders.
Imagine this: Over breakfast, you’ll teach me the protest songs that shaped your city’s identity, while I unfold a batik cloth embroidered with Dai minority zodiac tales. We’ll debate whether education starts in a classroom or around a shared meal (my UNICEF kids would vote for the latter). My camera won’t just capture your skyline, but the calluses on your hands that tell quieter, truer stories.
As someone who’s slept in disaster zones and university dorms, I promise to treat your home as sacred ground—not merely tidying surfaces, but polishing connections. Let’s write recipes using your spices and my mushrooms, then donate the meal’s cost to educate a girl in Nepal. After all, every couch surfed is a brick in the schoolhouse of human trust.
Interests
I have a deep passion for media, storytelling, and public speaking. As a student majoring in Directing, I enjoy exploring how media can shape narratives and influence society. I have also participated in bilingual broadcasting competitions, which allowed me to refine my speaking and presentation skills.
Besides media, I love literature, especially works related to humanism and feminism. I admire authors like Eileen Chang, whose writing deeply explores gender roles and societal norms. If you enjoy literature, we can discuss different perspectives on storytelling and cultural representation in books.
Traveling is another passion of mine. I love learning about different cultures, meeting new people, and understanding the world from various viewpoints. I am particularly fascinated by Central Asia and its historical connection to China through the Silk Road.
In addition, I am interested in social issues, particularly children’s rights and education. My experience as a UNICEF volunteer and in rural education has strengthened my commitment to advocating for children’s well-being. I believe in using media and storytelling to raise awareness about important social causes.

Music, Movies, and Books
Classical and modern music、I am a student majoring in directing. I have seen a lot of movies and books, and I have seen more than 2,000 books and movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the things I am most proud of is having volunteered with UNICEF. I actively participated in efforts to help many children return to school by providing them with educational resources, emotional support, and on-site tutoring—thereby lighting up a path of hope toward their future. This experience not only allowed me to witness the power of education but also strengthened my belief in making a difference in the lives of others through my modest contributions. It remains one of the brightest chapters of my journey, inspiring me to continuously pursue a more meaningful life and foster more cross-cultural exchanges.

What I Can Share with Hosts
1. Culture & Stories
I am a traveler from Yunnan, China, a province known for its diverse ethnic cultures and breathtaking landscapes. I can introduce you to unique traditions, such as the Torch Festival of the Yi people, the Three-Course Tea ceremony of the Bai people, and the Dongba culture of the Naxi people. If you’re interested in Chinese tea culture, I can show you how to brew Pu’er tea and share some fascinating stories about its history.
Additionally, I am passionate about traveling and currently planning to write a book on my journey along the Central Asia Grand Tour. If you’re interested in the cultures, history, or travel routes of Central Asian countries, we can talk about the Silk Road, the stunning blue mosques of Samarkand, the birthplace of apples in Almaty, or the vibrant handicraft markets in Uzbekistan.
2. Language & Literature Exchange
I am fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, so if you’re learning Chinese or English, I’d be happy to help you practice! I’m also deeply interested in Chinese literature and translation, particularly the works of Xu Zhimo, Yu Guangzhong, and Xu Yuanchong. I can read you a beautiful Chinese poem, explain its meaning, or discuss different expressions in various languages with you.
3. Travel Experiences & Practical Tips
I have traveled to many places, including Shangri-La in Yunnan, Lhasa in Tibet, and several ancient towns across China. If you’re planning a trip to China, I can offer useful tips, such as the most scenic routes, local customs, and how to avoid tourist crowds while discovering hidden gems.
4. Food Sharing
If you enjoy trying new foods, I can bring some local snacks from Yunnan, such as rose sugar, flower cakes, or Pu’er tea. If possible, I can even cook a simple Yunnan-style dish, such as Steam Pot Chicken or Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles, to share the taste of my hometown with you.
5. Volunteer Experiences & Social Issues Discussion
I have worked as a volunteer for UNICEF and have experience in teaching underprivileged children. I am passionate about topics such as children’s education, social equality, and environmental protection. If you are also interested in social issues, we can exchange ideas on how individuals can make a difference. For example, I can share insights on child rights protection from an international perspective or discuss how media can be used to promote social initiatives.
