About Me

Heyy
I’m Liz, I’m a Peruvian solo traveler
Currently studying Literature in Lima, once I finish my major this year I’m off to keep exploring the world.
Asides from books and traveling I’m a big passionate beach girl, I love paddle boarding and just laying on the sand the whole day getting the greatest sun tan with a book in one hand and a cup in the other.
I love Art, I tried to study it once but I think I’m more of a self taught artist, I love painting, drawing and sculpting but I also love procrastinating so I usually just leave my projects half finished.
I’ve been doing volunteering for over 7years by bringing educational opportunities to children and teenagers in underprivileged situations. I really love getting to learn and share with them, I think I’m lucky enough to have found a project that fulfills my heart and soul.

Here to keep learning and to share what I enjoy as much as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Getting to know the locals and their culture/philosophy is something that has always encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone as an introverted

Music, Movies, and Books

The Velvet Underground and Eddie Vedder biggest fan
Love/hate relationship with salsa music since I never got to learn how to dance it
When I was a child I used to watch Isat, an indie movie TV channel, that’s where I discovered Gaspar Noe’s films at a very young age 🤭 and other directors like Wong Kar Wai.
Books: I always say everyone should read The Catcher in the Rye, Cien Años de soledad, and Les Fleurs du mal

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleep on à hammock for 4 nights while traveling in a boat in the Amazonas river all by myself, eating a bowl of noodles, rice and banana every day

What I Can Share with Hosts

As every Peruvian I can talk for hours about food and of course also cook for them, Im not the best cook but I can make a pretty decent causa rellena.
I also like to share my travel experiences as a solo female traveler.
I love talking about books, religion, politics, philosophy and all of those topics that might be a bit controversial but from a very open minded and respectful posture.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Spain, Switzerland, United States
