About Me
Hey guys! I'm a visually impaired traveler from Turkey, currently studying history at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. Traveling is my biggest passion, and while I’m not sure if there's anyone else like me out there, my ultimate dream is to go on a solo world tour alone as a blind traveler!
Oh, and I’m also a huge chess fan! I even made it to the Turkish national team for visually impaired players for a while—just an amateur, but totally obsessed with the game!
Interests
Playing chess, traveling, going for walks, making new friends, and listening to audiobooks are among my all-time favorite hobbies!
Music, Movies, and Books
I don't have a specific music preference—I go through phases where I get hooked on certain songs and listen to them on repeat until I get bored. Or I just pick whatever makes me happy in the moment.
When it comes to books, I could talk about them for hours without getting tired. I'm a huge fan of Russian literature, especially Dostoevsky. That said, Émile Zola's Germinal is definitely my favorite.
As for movies, I tend to prefer dialogue-heavy ones because of my special condition:D But beyond that, I'm really into time travel and sci-fi themes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I represented my country in the indivisual world chess championship for visual impaireds in Rhodes, Greece in 2023
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not sure how much this would interest you, but I could talk about how visually impaired people navigate the challenges of daily life. And of course, if you're interested, I'm always ready to teach chess, English, or Turkish!
I’d say I’m a full-time learner—I truly believe that everyone has so much to learn from one another. As long as my English allows, I’m up for deep conversations on any topic. Every person has a unique story, and I absolutely love hearing them:)
