Hey!! We are Greta and Florenz, both 19 years old and currently on our 9 month travel through South East Asia!
The both of us are very open minded, easy going and accepting people and would love to make friends all over the world. For us, life is about adventures, friendships and crazy stories!
For now, we’re new to CS, but motivated and ready to see the world through other views.
Also, we both are open for everything and everyone! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We both want to get to know people, learn from them about themselves as individuals and also just get different perspectives on life and places from the locals.
Our first CS experience with April in Indonesia really opened our eyes to this kinda travel style! It’s so beautiful to become friends with strangers so quickly, talk with them about god and the world and share some great laughs together.
So we we would be blessed if you gave us the chance to even get to know you too! :)

Interests

I (Florenz) played football for a long time and am interested in music, sports in all kinds and the nature. Idk what i’m not interested in ;)
I try always something new, now i’m trying to learn surfing and making music. The start is always difficult, but i’ll have to go on!
In the past I had many thoughts about how the life will look after settle again, but before that i try to get the advices from everyone.

For me (Greta) nature and animals have a huge impact on my life. I’ve had a growing love for all animals since I was a kid and even became a Vegetarian 3 years ago, as I don’t want those innocent living beings to die for my pleasure. Also, I had a beautiful old cat lady called Mona Lisa at home and when she passed away a few months ago, a strongly loved family member left us with her.
I’m sure the nature aspect accrued because I got very connected to the sea whilst always living so close to the coast! It brings me so much peace and joy!! 🌊
Additionally, I feel like all kind of art means a lot to me as well, as I’ve had an urge to be creative all my life. I’ve danced Ballet and played football when I was a child and then danced Hip Hop for 8 years, played the Piano, Ukulele and some Guitar. I love any kind of drawing, sketching or crafting.
But for me, a very strong feature is also my will for fairness. I’m willing to fight for my and other people’s rights and are very into feminism and using my voice against right wing groups. For me acceptance and respect are soo so important in this broken world full of war!

Music, Movies, and Books

I (Florenz) love I would say many types of music. From rap like boom bap to good feel music from the classic 80s or 90s or even simply just classical bangers.
One of my favorite films is “shutter island” or “inception” (i know Leonardo DiCabrio is always the main character, but he is really good in those movies), but also the trilogy of maze runner is good too.
It’s always difficult to say which is the best you know.
For books i’m not the big reader, but i just finished a biography called “christiane f.”! That’s a step forward to being wise haha ;)

Oof, so for me (Greta) music is life!! It‘s a wide range for my favorite artists, as I love the classics such as Queen or Amy Winehouse! At the same time you could definitely find some funky jazz, Hip Hop, chill lofi beats and German rap in my playlists. :D
For movies and books, I hope it doesn’t throw you off that I love reading and watching horror stuff! Even better if it‘s true crime!! That‘s why Stephen King has been my hero, since I was 13 years old. Additionally, I‘m very into reading/watching thrillers and especially detective cases like Sherlock Holmes!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I (Florenz) met a duo from New Zealand, and there I had the first time the feeling of being a “backpacker” and how fun it is if you meet the right people :)
It’s so cool seeing that it’s only yourself which stops you from the experience of meeting new people.
I didn’t know them and after a dinner we had nice conversations and so much fun, it’s so inspiring.

For me (Greta) this specific great experience is repeating every year when I go to Sweden with my family by Van.
The three of us are very close and as we‘ve been going there so often, Sweden has become like a second home for me. We usually go for some wild camping in peaceful nature spots, which honestly feels like a warm bath for my soul.. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

We both love the cultural exchange CS has brought to us so far! It’s so crazy how getting to know people with so individual lifestyles in such different countries can level up your whole travel experience. Also, we are still very young and not so experienced in many ways, so our brains are ready to soak in your stories, advices and perspectives on life. :) Of course, we would be very happy as well to share our adventures and views on life with you!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Honestly, we’d especially love to share our joy of life with you. For the both of us it is so very important to spread love and be welcoming and supportive, especially when it comes to minorities! Also, Florenz has great knowledge when it comes to photography and football, while I (Greta) would love to show you some stuff of my travel diary or art.
