🚨LOOKING FOR HOST/S IN PARIS🚨

Hi🌈! I'm Alba🌻, I'm from Spain🇪🇸, I've spent the last year in L'Aigle (Normandy)🇫🇷. Now I'm back in Spain for the summer(Murcia/Madrid/València).

I'll be back in France by October to do a service civique in Argenteuil, Paris/Île-de-France🇫🇷 for Unis-Cité cinéma🎬. An association where young volunteers discuss cinema and social matters with teenagers. Maybe teaching some spanish again too, let me know if interested🙂.

I studied Comunicación audiovisual at the university in Madrid,so I love art, le cinéma, books, and other things like board games, jokes, getting lost in the city streets at night and dancing🌚. I'm a good cook, in case someone likes hummus :) 👩🏻‍🍳

Back in Normandy, I volunteered at a MJC as part of the European Solidarity Corps, a EU🇪🇺 project, so I prepared cultural activities, multilingual workshops and refugees encounters.

Besides spanish🇪🇸, I speak english🇬🇧🇺🇸, french🇫🇷 and italian🇮🇹 fluently, also a little bit of catalan 😗 !
I also learned some Spanish and French Sign Language👐🏻!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Back in Madrid I shared appartments with 8 people, yeah, crazy, from different countries, so I love getting to know new cultures 😊

At the first seminar of my voluntering project they showed us Couchsurfing. From what I'd heard I thought it was just a place to get a free couch to sleep, kind of impersonal, but hey, I'm poor too, so I get it. I also heard some joke about h00king up with your host 😂.

But when I registered myself and checked the profiles, I just loved the soul of the community. Everyone seemed so warm and kind in their hearts, just by reading their descriptions.

So far I've connected so gently with the people I've met. Ironicly, I always spend more time chatting with my hosts than visiting the city/town, so at this point I basically pay the train to meet wonderful people more than to do tourism😂.

The platform makes me feel that we all the humans were like that, humans, the world would be a place full of peace and justice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

🧭Well, on April 2025 I forgot my phone at my friend's car before taking a train. So I'll say making it to Paris, walking for more than an hour from Montparnasse to la Gare de Lyon, taking my train to Lyon, and once there making my way through the streets, museums and restaurants without Google Maps, just by asking really kind people, having a good orientation and memory. For 5 days :).

🏃🏻‍♀️On May 2025 I did a 7km obstacle race in Normandy: la Mud'Ouche. As you might guess by its name, there was lots of mud, you literally got bathed in the mud and half of the time you weren't able to run cause of the fear to slip on it. So almost two and a half hours of my life being a mud monster, 3h if we count the eternal queue for a cold hose. It was fun and at the same time challenging, my hands end up red and full of pain, I couldn't even grab a rope. A special mention for all the people that did it with a random and ridiculous disguise. Sadly, I don't have any pictures to post, but I have a funny video to show you if we meet. If you've read till this part, you might want to remind me on your couch request that I love pain au chocolat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching languages and art!

What I Can Share with Hosts

🧑🏻‍🏫I'm used to teach all the languages I know, not only professionally, but also to my international flatmates. So I would be glad to help you learn new words, grammar, explain the difficult stuff or just practise with conversation. I also enjoy sharing any cool recomendations🎶🎬🎙️📚 to immerse yourself and my many personal learning tips.

👩🏻‍🍳I like cooking, basically cause I like eating🤤. So far, I've cooked gazpacho, bolognese and hummus for my hosts and they loved it. I enjoy talking around a homemade meal and sharing experiences. I'm vegan and I've also cooked gluten free before, so it's easy when looking for a dish we all enjoy. I also love bringing vegan viennoiseries and pâtisseries to eat with my hosts.

🧹🧽I'm also up to give you a hand with the housekeeping tasks🪻
