About Me

Hi! My name is Maria Paula, I’m 22 years old, and I study Environmental Management at USP – University of São Paulo. Right now, I’m doing a 6-month study exchange in Jaén, Spain – an opportunity I worked really hard to achieve!

Besides studying, I want to take this time to travel, explore new places, and connect with people from different cultures. I’m a curious and open-minded person, always willing to learn something new. I love being in nature, trying local (especially vegan) food, and attending cultural events.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that traveling is not just about visiting places but also about the people we meet along the way. My exchange has been an incredible opportunity to experience new things, connect with different cultures, and visit places I’ve always dreamed of.

Couchsurfing also helps make my travels more affordable while allowing me to meet amazing people and share meaningful cultural exchanges. I truly believe that these connections make every journey even more special and enriching.

Music, Movies, and Books

🎵 Music: I have a very eclectic taste! I listen to a lot of Brazilian music (MPB, indie, and a bit of everything). Internationally, I really love Bad Bunny and Bruno Mars.

🎬 Movies: My favorite movie is Forrest Gump, but I enjoy almost every genre – except horror! 😂

📖 Books: I’m a fan of the Brazilian author Leonardo Boff, and my favorite book is The Orange Girl from Jostein Gaarder.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most incredible experiences of my life was representing the Brazilian national team at the Tchoukball World Championship in the Czech Republic! It’s not a very famous sport, but I like it very much. It was a unique experience, full of learning, challenges, and excitement.

Teach, Learn, Share

✨ Teach: I can share my knowledge about environmental sustainability, teach some Portuguese, and I also love cooking—I'd be happy to teach you some Brazilian recipes!

🌍 Learn: I want to learn more about different cultures, languages, and hear inspiring life stories. I’m also really curious about traditional dances from other countries!

💬 Share: I love good conversations, cultural exchanges, and sharing travel experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d love to share good conversations, some Brazilian recipes, and teach you a bit of Portuguese! I’m really passionate about sustainability, so I’d be happy to exchange ideas on living more eco-friendly. I’m also excited to learn about your culture, make new friends, and share my own experiences along the way.
