I’m Tomáš from Banská Bystrica. I have been into robotics since high school, studied it at university in Žilina, and now work in the field. During university, I did Erasmus in Maribor(Slovenia) and Porto(Portugal) which opened my eyes to new cultures and the joy of meeting people from all over. I love chatting in English no matter where someone’s from. 😍

In my free time, I’m all about self-development, sports, and the mountains. I’m a big extrovert, so my weekends usually mix social time and outdoor adventures….a Friday evening with friends over a beer🍺 to recharge my social battery, then Saturday mornings hiking 🥾 , climbing 🧗‍♂️ , or just exploring nature ⛰️. I also like getting things done around the house, since there’s always something to fix or improve.

I love traveling and planning trips abroad to discover new countries. So far I have mostly explored Europe, usually by car, which has given me plenty of great stories and memories. I also really enjoy sleeping in my car on road trips…..parking at a beautiful spot by a river, the 🌊sea , or catching a sunset 🌅 , and spending an adventurous night on the mattress I have set up across the car 🚘

Couchsurfing seems like a great way to help others while meeting new people, exchanging experiences, enriching ourselves culturally, and making new connections around the world. When I choose to watch a film every time it is usually one with depth and meaning, the kind that makes you reflect even after the credits roll. From time to time, I also go for less mainstream movies and enjoy finding the beauty in art films. Anyway my favorite is Requiem for dream. 😍

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best thing I’ve ever done in my life was seize the opportunity and make the most of my time at university by participating in the Erasmus program twice.

Teach, Learn, Share

If I were to teach someone something, it would definitely be in areas I feel strong in, such as DIY projects, programming, and sports.

My current goal is to learn Italian, and since the beginning of 2025 I’ve been studying it on my own, improving every day so that I can hold simple conversations within a few years and reach the goal I set for myself 🇮🇹
