Overview
About Me
I’m a mechanical engineer and a mechanical engineering teacher at a local college. Outside the classroom, I chose a life close to the sea. I live in Djerba, Tunisia, where I also run a sailing school and spend much of my time teaching, fixing boats, building projects, and watching sunsets that never get old.
I enjoy simple things: good conversations, sharing meals, learning from people’s stories, and life outdoors. I like hands-on work, whether it’s sailing, repairing equipment, or working on technical and creative projects. Teaching and mentoring — both students and young sailors — is a big part of my life.
I believe travel is not just about places, but about people. Couchsurfing, for me, is about exchange, respect, and curiosity — sharing time, ideas, and sometimes silence, with the sound of the sea nearby.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing to meet people, share experiences, and learn from different cultures. I enjoy welcoming travelers, exchanging stories, and offering a local perspective of life in Djerba. For me, it’s about connection, respect, and meaningful encounters — not just a place to sleep.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music
I enjoy a wide range of music, depending on the mood — from calm and atmospheric sounds to music that carries stories and emotion. Anything that goes well with long drives, workshops, or sunsets by the sea.
Movies
I like films that are human and meaningful: stories about journeys, real life, discovery, and people. I’m not into noisy blockbusters — I prefer movies that leave something to think about after they end.
Books
I enjoy books that mix knowledge and reflection — engineering, sailing, nature, travel, and life experiences. I appreciate books that teach something or change the way you see the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I built a sailing school almost from nothing. Starting with very limited resources, I helped create a place where young people learn sailing, discipline, and confidence — and where the sea becomes a teacher, not just a playground.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach / Share:
I can share knowledge about sailing, basic seamanship, and life by the sea in Djerba. I’m also happy to talk about mechanical engineering, hands-on projects, teaching methods, and practical problem-solving. I enjoy sharing local culture, simple meals, and good conversations.
Learn:
I love learning from travelers — their cultures, languages, life paths, and perspectives. I’m always curious about how people live, think, and create in different parts of the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m an easygoing and respectful guest. I enjoy meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and sharing everyday moments rather than just passing through. I’m always happy to help with small things, cook or share a meal, and adapt to the rhythm of the house.
Countries I’ve Visited
