Hi! I'm Rúben, 28 years old, from Portugal.

I'm someone who loves meeting new people, discovering new cultures, and learning how others live and think. I believe the best moments in life are shared — through conversation, curiosity, and connection.

Right now, I’m on a 17-day solo road trip across 13 European countries in my old car. I'm not looking for hotels or tourist-only experiences — I want something real. I want to meet locals, understand daily life in different cities, and get a glimpse into each culture from the inside.

I'm using Couchsurfing to make that possible — to meet people who can share a bit of their world with me, and hopefully I can do the same in return.

Intereses

I work in marketing and communication because I’ve always loved expressing ideas, creating new things, and exploring different concepts — creativity has always been a big part of who I am.

My interests revolve around creativity and communication. I enjoy podcasts, storytelling, and meaningful conversations. On the other side, I’ve always had a strong connection to sports. Football was one of my first passions, and I still love playing whenever I can. I also go to the gym regularly — I think both sports and creativity are how I channel my energy. I’ve always been a bit restless, in a good way.

At the same time, I’m very curious about how people live and think. I love analyzing different cultures, social dynamics, and even getting into political or philosophical discussions — not to argue, but to understand.

In the end, I think having such different interests helps me connect with many kinds of people. I’m always up for a deep talk or just a simple laugh.

Probably the most amazing thing I’m doing is this one: a 17-day solo road trip across 13 countries in my old car — just me, the road, and the adventure. It’s something I’ve dreamed of, and now I’m finally doing it.

Besides that, I’ve had the chance to be part of some special moments. I helped create something meaningful at my hometown football club, where I worked and contributed to a unique moment in its history. During university, I led a student group and helped organize things that had never been done before. And more recently, I organized a big event for almost 800 people through my work — something that really challenged me in the best way.

All of these things, in their own way, make me proud — not just for what they were, but for the people I met and the energy I put into them.

What I value most when meeting people is good conversation and meaningful exchange. I love talking about life, culture, society, and different ways of thinking — from deep topics to casual ones like sports or travel stories.

I can share good energy, curiosity, and (hopefully!) good food — I enjoy cooking and I'm told I'm pretty good at it. I also like to work out and talk about fitness and football, which has always been a big part of my life.

I'm fluent in Portuguese and speak Spanish very well too, so I’d be happy to help with either language.

Professionally, I work in marketing and social media — if anyone’s curious or needs help in that area, I'm always open to sharing what I know.

But most of all, I’m just looking to create real moments with real people — even if it’s just sharing a meal or a deep chat about life.
