About Me
Hi! I'm Maria, but my friends call me Mia — and I’d love for you to do the same! 😊
I just finished my third year of Sociology studies and enjoy exploring how people live, think, and connect — both through books and real-life conversations.
I'm positive, curious, and always ready for new adventures. I believe that traveling is not only about visiting places, but also about meeting people, sharing stories, and laughing together over tea or music. I can be quiet or talkative depending on the vibe, but I always try to be respectful and kind.
Would love to exchange cultures, cook something together, or just chat about life.
THINGS THAT MAY BE IMPORTANT:
-I don’t smoke
-I don’t have a drinking habit, but on rare occasion I may have a drink
-I don’t use any type of drugs
-I don’t snore (as far as I know)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that the best way to experience a new place is through its people. Hotels give you a bed — locals give you stories, laughter, and real memories. I love cultural exchange, deep conversations, and the little everyday things that make each city feel alive

Music, Movies, and Books
I can’t go a day without music — it’s with me when I wake up, when I walk through the city, when I study, or just stare at the ceiling and dream. My playlists are full of everything from indie and alternative rock to Ukrainian folk, jazz, and cinematic soundtracks.
I believe that music connects people in a special way — it can tell you stories, heal you, or make you dance like no one’s watching. One of my dreams is to visit different countries and feel the local rhythm — in concerts, street performances, or just in someone’s kitchen with a speaker on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once took a spontaneous trip to a country I knew almost nothing about — and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m always excited to learn about new cultures, languages, music, and local traditions — especially little things you wouldn’t find in a guidebook. I also love hearing personal stories and perspectives — everyone has something to teach.
I’m happy to share my time, a good laugh, interesting conversation, music playlists, and maybe even a little Ukrainian chocolate 😉
I believe small moments shared between strangers can become memories for life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a respectful, kind, and curious guest who truly values every opportunity to meet locals and connect through everyday things.
Here’s what I can share:
Positive energy and friendly company
Stories from life as a student, and cultural fun facts
Music, traditions, or even language tips
Help in the kitchen — I can cook simple meals or clean up after
Good conversations — deep talks, light jokes, and everything in between
A small thank-you gift or snack from Ukraine (if I can bring it with me!)
