About Me
Hi there! I’m Max✌️
I’m an exchange student from Russia currently living and studying in Duluth, Minnesota. While I’m here, I want to see and experience as much of the United States as I can: cities, nature, music, people, the little things and the big ones too!
I’m an open-minded and outgoing person who loves good conversation, whether it’s about life, culture, travel, or random funny stories. I enjoy sharing my background and experiences, and I’m always curious to hear other people’s perspectives in return. For me, Couchsurfing isn’t just a place to stay. It’s a chance to connect!
I’m into meaningful conversations, spontaneous adventures, and that warm feeling when strangers become friends. Let’s share some stories…✨
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m here to connect with people from all over, learn about different cultures firsthand, and share my own stories. For me, travel is not just about places, but about the people you meet along the way. Couchsurfing is the best way to create those real, meaningful connections!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music. Big fan of classic rock and timeless songwriters: Billy Joel, Elton John, Queen, ABBA, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Scorpions, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Simon & Garfunkel… I love music that tells a story.
Movies. From Star Wars to Hitchcock, I enjoy everything from cult classics to deeper dramas. Favorites include The Graduate, Billy Elliot, La La Land, and old epics like Ben-Hur. Also a big fan of the Coen brothers, Tarantino, and Scorsese.
Books. Chekhov’s short stories and plays, Hemingway (The Old Man and the Sea), Bradbury (Fahrenheit 451, Dandelion Wine), Miller (Tropic of Capricorn), Hesse (The Glass Bead Game), London (The Sea-Wolf), Remarque (Night in Lisbon), Whitman (Leaves of Grass), and that’s just a little glimpse of what I enjoy!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Biked for miles along the Azov Sea (just the wind, the waves, and total freedom!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some Russian, Spanish or Hungarian phrases, play music (piano, guitar, harmonica, and I sing too), and talk about international relations (my major), culture, and travel. Always happy to exchange stories and perspectives!
