Overview
About Me
Hello everyone! I’m a college teacher specializing in vehicle and transportation engineering. Since graduating from university, I’ve been in education for 20 years—working with students has kept my curiosity for the world alive.
About my travels:
I’ve explored every part of China except Hainan, drawn especially to places rich in ethnic culture: the prayer flags of Tibet, Xinjiang’s dances, Inner Mongolia’s long songs, Guizhou’s embroidery, Yunnan’s folk music… These traditions fascinate me. After visiting Thailand and Nepal, I’m now eager to discover more countries, diving into their music, dances, art, and customs.
Hobbies & life:
I’m an optimist who sees the fun in the unknown and loves a good laugh. Jazz and pop music make me happy—I could swing to the rhythm all day at a music festival! I also enjoy museums, art galleries, musicals, and plays (I even have some stage experience myself). Religious cultures around the world intrigue me too; I believe every faith holds wisdom worth respecting.
For sports, I ski, swim, ice-skate, and play badminton or table tennis—feel free to challenge me to a game!
I don’t smoke, and I rarely drink. But if you have a local specialty brew, I’d love to try a sip (though my tolerance is low, so go easy on me!).
A few honest words:
This is a new account, so there are no interactions or reviews yet—but I hope this trip will change that. I’m easy with accommodation: just a place to lie down and a shower are enough.
My philosophy? Keep learning, keep giving. Stay open-minded, love deeply, let go when needed, and stay humble. I’m still learning to be a great couchsurfer, and maybe one day a host, passing on the kindness.
Looking forward to meeting you, making friends, and swapping stories about our lives!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing feels like the heart of meaningful travel. It’s not just about finding a place to stay—it’s about connecting with people who turn a new city into a home. I want to dive deeper than tourist spots: learn how locals live, taste home-cooked meals, and understand cultures through real conversations. After exploring most of China and a few countries, I crave these genuine exchanges—they’re what make traveling unforgettable. Plus, I hope to one day host others too, passing on the kindness I receive.
Interests
I’m into jazz and some pop music—there’s nothing like losing myself in a good tune. When it comes to sports, I love skiing, ice-skating, playing badminton or table tennis, and bodyweight workouts too. I also never miss a chance to check out exhibitions at museums and art galleries, and I’m always eager to dive into different folk cultures wherever I go.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m a huge movie buff—The Lion King is my all-time favorite, and fun fact: my name comes from it! I love comedies, arthouse films, and movies with stunning visual flair, like The Grand Budapest Hotel, Shirley, and The Fall.
When it comes to filmmakers, Steven Spielberg, Hayao Miyazaki, Jim Carrey, Jackie Chan, Stephen Chow, and Akira Kurosawa never fail to impress me.
Music-wise, I’m obsessed with Prince, Linkin Park, Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, and Mariah Carey—plus a bunch of other pop artists. There’s nothing like losing myself in a good song!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once traveled in Tibet for 35 days and in Xinjiang for 24 days, but I believe the best part is that there will be more exploration trips to embark on in the future. Each trip will be even better than the last.
Teach, Learn, Share
I hope I can share my experiences with you. We can listen to music, sing, dance, and share lots of interesting things together. delicious Chinese food too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’d be happy to share my love for Chinese food, as well as all the things I find interesting—and hear all the things you do too. It’s sure to be a really fun time!
