About Me

Hi! My name is Sasha and I’m currently traveling around the U.S. with my friend Lucas. We’re spending the summer working at Camp Mohawk for Girls in Connecticut, and after the season ends, we’re taking a few weeks to explore before heading back home to Slovakia 🇸🇰.

We’re both friendly, open-minded, and easygoing people who enjoy good conversations, sharing stories, and learning about new cultures. We love connecting with locals, discovering hidden gems, and we’re always up for trying something new. If you host us, we’d be more than happy to help out, cook a traditional Slovak meal, or simply share a relaxed evening together.

We’re new to Couchsurfing, but we really believe in the idea of cultural exchange, hospitality, and kindness between strangers. During our trip, we’re mainly looking for a place to stay for 1–2 nights in cities like New York, Las Vegas, or Los Angeles, but we’re flexible and open to opportunities.

Thanks for taking the time to read my (our) profile – we’re excited to meet new people and make meaningful memories along the way! ✨

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I love the idea of sharing, connecting, and making travel more personal. Hotels are forgettable — people aren’t. I want to see the world through local eyes, and hopefully offer good energy in return :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left my home country to spend the summer working in a girls’ camp in the U.S. — surrounded by nature, new people, and totally out of my comfort zone. It was the first time I felt truly independent abroad, and it taught me so much about resilience, teamwork, and finding joy in the simple things (like campfires, starry skies, and singing with kids at sunset). 🌲🔥🌟

What I Can Share with Hosts

warm smile, good company, and lots of stories from life in Slovakia 🇸🇰 and our time working at a summer camp in the U.S. If you’re up for it, I’d love to cook a simple Slovak meal (like halušky or a sweet dessert), or just chat over tea (or wine) about travel, culture, or life in general.
