About Me

I work in tourism and run a small travel company based in Afghanistan. We organize safe and meaningful trips to places like Bamiyan, Badakhshan, Wakhan Corridor, Nuristan, and more. I started this work because I truly enjoy helping travellers experience the real Afghanistan — its nature, people, and culture. If you're curious or planning to explore, I'm always happy to give advice, help with planning, or just share stories over tea.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing because I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and learning from their stories. For me, travel is more than just visiting places — it’s about connecting with others, sharing experiences, and seeing the world through new perspectives.

As someone who works in tourism, I’ve seen how meaningful local connections can turn a trip into something unforgettable. Couchsurfing gives me the chance to both host and meet travelers, share what I love about Afghanistan, and also discover how others see the world.

Whether it’s helping someone find their way, sharing a home-cooked meal, or just having a good conversation — I’m here for the human connection, not just the destination.

Music, Movies, and Books

🎵 Music
I enjoy traditional Afghan music — the kind that brings back memories and stories. I also like soft instrumental and acoustic music when I’m relaxing or working. Sometimes I explore world music just to hear something different.

🎬 Movies
I like movies that tell deep stories or show different cultures and real-life struggles. Some of my favorites are:

The Kite Runner

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Into the Wild

A Separation (Iranian film)
I also enjoy travel documentaries and anything that gives a new perspective on the world.

📚 Books
I enjoy books about history, culture, and human experience. Some titles I’ve liked:

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl

The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak
And of course, I enjoy reading about Afghan history and poetry when I have time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped organize and lead a tour deep into the Wakhan Corridor — one of the most remote and beautiful regions of Afghanistan. We crossed rivers, shared meals with local families, and slept under the stars with no internet or electricity. It reminded me how powerful nature is and how simple moments can become lifelong memories.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I can share my knowledge about Afghan history, culture, local traditions, and travel in Afghanistan. I also enjoy helping others understand the hidden beauty of this country. If you’re interested, I can even teach a few Dari or Pashto phrases, or how to cook Afghan food!

Learn:
I love learning about other cultures, lifestyles, and how people think differently. I’m always curious to learn from others’ travel stories, ideas, and experiences — it helps me grow personally and professionally.

Share:
I’m happy to share local tips, hidden gems, homemade meals, good conversations, and a warm welcome. Even if you don’t book a tour, I’ll try to help however I can.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories and experiences from traveling around Afghanistan, local knowledge, and cultural insights. If you’re interested, I’d be happy to cook a traditional Afghan meal or teach you a bit of Dari or Pashto. I can also share tips about planning a trip to Afghanistan or the surrounding region. And of course — I’ll always bring good energy, respect your space, and help wherever I can.
