About Me
Hello! My name is Ivy. I'm a middle school math teacher by day and an adrenaline enthusiast by any other time! My life is a fun balance between nurturing young minds and chasing adventures. I believe in living life to the fullest, which for me means exploring the world, connecting with incredible people, and constantly learning new things. I'm friendly, respectful, and incredibly curious about different cultures and stories. I can't wait to meet you!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I have a very eclectic taste! I love high-energy electronic dance music (EDM) for my workouts, traditional local music when I travel to feel the culture, and classic rock for a long motorcycle ride.
Movies: I'm a sucker for inspiring true stories and epic adventures.
Books: I prefer non-fiction, especially autobiographies of extraordinary people and travelogues that explore different ways of life. They give me inspiration for both my teaching and my own adventures.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Competed in a National Free Fighting Championship! While teaching equations during the week, I was training intensely in the evenings. Stepping into the ring for a national-level competition was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. It taught me immense discipline, resilience, and respect for others—values I now bring to my classroom and my travels.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a teacher, my entire life is about sharing knowledge and passion. I joined Couchsurfing because it’s the perfect extension of this philosophy—but for adults and the global community. I'm tired of impersonal hotels and want to experience real life in the places I visit. I believe the best way to understand a culture is through its people, and I'm excited to learn from you, share my own stories, and create a genuine human connection.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd be happy to:
Share fascinating stories from my classroom – teaching 13-year-olds is never boring!
Offer a basic self-defense or泰拳 (Muay Thai) lesson in your living room (if you're interested!).
Help you with any math problems you’ve been avoiding (I make it fun, I promise!).
Share my travel photos and experiences from all over the world.
Countries I’ve Visited
