Présentation
À propos de moi
Hi, my name is Hsin Wen, but you can just call me Wen.
I’m from Taiwan and have lived in several places around the world, including the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, and China. Traveling has taken me even further — I’ve spent time in ecological communities in Chiang Mai, Kunming, and Qinghai, which shaped my passion for sustainable living.
Professionally, I’ve worked as a software engineer in a leading investment bank, but now I’m on a new journey in sustainable engineering, hoping to contribute to environmentally friendly initiatives. Currently, I’m pursuing an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s degree in engineering with a full scholarship, and this semester I’m studying in Bilbao, Spain. It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore different cultures and places across Europe.
I’m neat, tidy, and a non-smoker. I’m also easygoing and speak fluent English and Chinese.
I would love the chance to stay with you, share stories, and learn from your experiences!
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe traveling is not just about seeing new places, but also about connecting with people and sharing cultures. Staying with locals allows me to experience a place more authentically, exchange stories, and build friendships along the way.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Music
I have a soft spot for classic rock — bands like Queen and The Velvet Underground never get old for me. I also enjoy exploring different genres and discovering lesser-known artists along the way.
Books
I love reading, and it’s always hard to choose a single favorite. In general, I’m drawn to books with strong anthropological themes that explore human experience and culture. If I had to pick one, it would be The Soul of Care by Arthur Kleinman, a powerful classic in medical anthropology.
Movies
Movies are another passion of mine. I enjoy a wide range of films and love the atmosphere of film festivals — I recently went to the 73rd San Sebastián International Film Festival. While it’s tough to single out one movie, I’d say Christopher Nolan is one of my favorite directors for the way he blends storytelling, imagination, and philosophy.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
One of my passions is traveling with friends, where I often take the role of tour guide and driver. I love sharing local knowledge while discovering new places together. One amazing experience was guiding three foreign friends on a trip through Qinghai, China. It was a challenge because of the strict travel restrictions near the Tibetan region, but we managed to overcome every obstacle and complete the incredible Qinghai–Gansu loop by car. It was both demanding and rewarding, and it deepened my love for exploring the unknown with others.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
Teach
I can share my knowledge of software engineering and sustainable engineering, as well as some insights from my travels and time living in different countries. I’d also be happy to introduce people to Taiwanese culture, food, and language.
Learn
I’m always curious to learn about local traditions, everyday life, and personal stories, and I’m also interested in learning new skills related to sustainability and community living.
Share
Apart from sharing travel stories or cultural perspectives, I’m also happy to help with cooking or anything practical around the house.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I can share my stories from living and traveling across different parts of the world, from Taiwan to Hong Kong, the U.S., and beyond. Above all, I bring respect for your home — I’m tidy, considerate, and happy to help out in any small way during my stay.
