About Me
Hey, I’m Agustín my IG is @aguxtin_ — I was born in Spain, raised in Chile 🇪🇸🇨🇱
I’m 22 years old and currently studying Industrial Engineering. I’d say I’m pretty easygoing, curious, and always up for discovering new places and meeting interesting people
I’m heading to Edinburgh for a semester abroad and planning to travel around the UK and Europe whenever I can. I love wandering around cities, checking out museums, vintage shops, restaurants, and local coffees/bars, anything that gives a real sense of the place
Back in Chile, I run a small second-hand clothing project on Instagram where we sell designer and vintage pieces at accessible prices to fight fast fashion. I’ve always been into clothes, art, and design, I like the idea that what we wear or create can say something about who we are.
I’m also really into photography, both film and digital, especially when I travel. I enjoy good conversations, cooking for others, and spending time with people who are open-minded and spontaneous
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because hotels don’t teach you about people.
I love the idea of discovering a city through locals, finding hidden places, and making genuine connections
As a student, I also travel on a budget but more than saving money, I’m here to meet kind people, practice my English, and share good moments and have been amazing my experiences so far

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a mix of stuff, mostly Alvvays, Björk, Lana Del Rey, C. Tangana, and The Marías, Madonna, FKA twigs Sade. Depends on the mood, really.
Movies: Matrix, Anything by Wes Anderson or Almodóvar, Amelie, Midnight in Paris, Before Sunrise, The dreamers (one of my favorites for far) and a loot more of movies (a have a good/long list of my favorites in case you wanna recommendations jaja)
Books:The last book that really stuck with me (for better or worse) was A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, sooo intense and depressing but worth it, not everything has to be happy and enjoyable to be good, Isabel Allende, Just Kids by Patty Smith, Mariana Henriquez, Andre Aciman, The Little Prince
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At university, we built a solar-powered thermocollector that provided hot water to a low-income community living in informal housing, seeing how engineering can help and improve the quality of life of people was an amazing experience!
Surfed in the capital of surf -Pichilemu, Slept in one of the most beautiful beaches in the world - Varadero (the day after I had the worst mosquitoes bites of my life but was worth it)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach some Spanish or a bit of Chilean slang, and I’m always happy to cook something simple and good.
I’d like to get better at English, pick up new recipes, and just share stories or hang out
Mostly, I just enjoy connecting with others, laughing, discover new cultures talking about politics etc
What I Can Share with Hosts
I really enjoy cooking, anything from pasta and seafood to typical Chilean food.
My go-to dish is creamy chicken with mashed potatoes and mushrooms, simple but always a hit
I also make pretty good drinks (I used to bartend a bit for events)
Mostly, I just like cooking together, talking, and enjoying a chill evening!
