Overview
About Me
Hi!!! I’m Saarang Govinda Rajan, born and raised in India and now enjoying life in Madison, Wisconsin. I love exploring different cultures through food, languages, travel, or simply by meeting new people and having great conversations. I speak English, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi, and I kinda know Japanese too (thanks to all the anime I’ve watched!).
I’m passionate about cooking, especially dishes from my hometown, and I love sharing meals with others. When I’m not experimenting in the kitchen, you’ll find me trekking, camping, binge-watching a fun TV series, or relaxing with a good movie or book. I enjoy meaningful chats, spontaneous plans, and connecting with people from all walks of life.
I’ve lived in India and now the United States, and I’ve traveled to Singapore and Indonesia experiences that have helped shape who I am and how I approach new adventures. For me, Couchsurfing brings together everything I enjoy: meeting amazing people, exchanging stories, learning from one another, and creating little memories that stay with you long after the trip is over.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I love connecting with people from around the world. For me, travel isn’t just about seeing new places, it’s about sharing stories, learning from others, and experiencing a city through the eyes of someone who lives there. I enjoy meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and the simple kindness of meeting new people.

My favorite movies are Top Gun, A Few Good Men, The Devil Wears Prada, The Imitation Game, Gladiator, and The Lord of the Rings.
I also enjoy reading the Harry Potter series."
What I Can Share with Hosts
I enjoy sharing meaningful moments with my hosts whether that means cooking a traditional dish from my hometown, exchanging stories and cultural perspectives, or simply having warm, engaging conversations. I’m always glad to help around the house, keep my space tidy, and offer any skills I have, such as language practice or travel advice. I also like bringing small, thoughtful gifts like local treats or postcards. Most importantly, I strive to be a respectful, friendly, and considerate guest who adds something positive to your home and your day.
