About Me

Hey there! It’s Ivanozka from Mexico City 🇲🇽
I’m a performer and filmmaker, currently working on an independent documentary and artistic research project. This journey will take me through 16 countries on a budget, guided by purpose, intuition and presence.

My work explores various topics of memory, collective consciousness, myth, and the relationship between landscapes (especially the sea) and human experience. Exploring the physical, spiritual and rather personal frontiers we encounter in life.
I’m utterly interested in culture, history, tradition, art, and music. I’m a musician and play in a couple of bands in my home country, I’m passionate about modular synthesis and sound exploration, and in that matter I’d like to think of myself as a collector in a way.

I’m especially drawn to folk music, the Romani culture, sea legends, old cemeteries, and the stories that live beneath the surface of them. I’ll be waking up early and usually have full days of filming, recording, and writing, so I value calm environments, clear communication, and mutual respect.

I enjoy meaningful conversations but I’m also very comfortable with silence and shared quiet. I love cooking and sharing a meal, and I’m excited to learn about local food.

I live with my husband Tony, and my roommate Charlie whom I’ll be traveling with. We share our life with our cats, Noche, Neftis, and Igor.
I’m new to CS as a traveler, so I really appreciate the trust and care of you letting me stay with you, back in Mexico we actively host when we can. We love welcoming people from different communities and sharing a safe space.

I value kindness, boundaries, and honest connection, and I take this opportunity as a way to remember that we’re all, reflections of a shared collective consciousness.
Thank you for reading and for opening your home if we share this core values.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I host and stay with people because I believe travel is about connection and shared humanity. It allows me to expand my perspective through the eyes of those who have lived different lives, while offering warmth, a safe space, and stories, a way to share culture and inspiration. I treasure organic conversations, a good meal, or even a spontaneous karaoke, and the privilege to learning from someone’s life experiences, getting to discover hidden corners, meaningful traditions, and subtle rhythms that a typical tourist path might miss. I like to believe the universe conspires to make us happy in unexpected way, embracing that magic, exchanging stories, and leaving a space touched by uniqueness.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve chosen to build a life around what I love.

Choosing meaning over certainty, and turning curiosity into a way of life. I’m committed to paying attention, to listening and to creating with authenticity.

Becoming the best version of myself, humbly my life is the most meaningful project I’ve ever worked on. And loving is the most amazing thing I’ve ever done.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are not yet to know what we can, learn, teach and share with each other, I believe in the kindness of people and I let myself be mesmerized by the beauty of spontaneity.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I bring curiosity, warmth, and respect into every home I stay in. I love listening to people’s perspectives, and exchanging ideas.
Bringing a little taste of my world while learning about local flavors. I’m tidy, considerate, and happy to help with light household tasks, always aiming to be a thoughtful and responsible guest.
