About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To come up with an idea as good as the Winky Dinky Dog......say it with me: "Winky Dinky Dog!"

ABOUT ME

I like to question why things are and what works and what doesn't work. Also, I'm constantly trying to figure out what's right for me in the surroundings I have put myself in.
I like to know more about others by asking questions and finding out what makes people tick.
I also like to challenge myself constantly.
As positive as I've been lately, I'm also wondering if life is really like the lyrics of "Pull My Strings".

PHILOSOPHY

If you are not learning and continuing self and community improvement, then you might as well give up now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed all over the West US on various skateboarding trips when I was younger. Met a lot of great souls through that.
I have hosted many great people through CS and have had the fortunate luck to be hosted in California, Greece and Spain!
I met the most wonderful woman through CS as well.

Interests

Snowboarding, cycling, music, trail work, interpersonal relationships, foreign cultures, photography, skateboarding, creativity, tactical challenges and obviously travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Manu Chao, Mano Negra, DeVotchKa, Tommy Guerrero, Johnny Cash, Tom Waits, Neutral Milk Hotel, Radiohead, DK, Les Savy Fav, Motown.....this list could go on forever. Seriously. Anything other than top 40.

"A Prayer for Owen Meany", "A Confederacy of Dunces", "The Glass Blowers" and "*A Short History of Everything" are three that immediately come to mind. Two for humour, one for history of the French Revolution and the other for a basic scientific breakdown.

"Au Revoirs Les Enfants", "Hollywood Shuffle", "Down By Law", "Roman Holiday" and "Baraka", but really I enjoy films that provoke insight and thought and make you wonder if what you are thinking about is what the director is attempting to convey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I can remember is seeing fireflies in the Taos Gorge while we were sitting in some hot springs in the Manby area with a full moon and an array of stars above us. I didn't think fireflies existed there. I was even amazed we made it there at all.

Teach, Learn, Share

If there's one thing I could suggest to those just getting out of school: travel! It's a regret I have and something I am working towards rectifying.
If I can't make someone think about moving to Portland when they visit, then I haven't done my job.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Greece, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
