About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live in peace with our natural enviroment and love eachother as well as ourselves
ABOUT ME
We are a fun loving family. Mike and Tammy are home alone for the first time in our lives with our last daughter leaving the nest. We are truly blessed to live on a small farm with a spectacular view of the Chugiak and Talkeetna mountain ranges all around us. Hatcher Pass, which is famous for hiking and skiing / snowboarding, is just up the road. The sweet little town of Palmer is about 7 miles away, and Anchorage is about 45 miles away. Tammy teaches yoga in the Yoga studio located behind the house. In her spare time she likes to kayak, bike, hike, and garden. We have a beautiful Labyrinth on the land that Tammy's womenâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s group built in the birch woods, next to the stream which runs down the middle of the property. Mike is a family practice doc. In his spare time he really enjoys growing raspberries and fruit trees in Alaska. They split their time in Hawaii where they are growing all kinds of fruit trees and Macadamia nuts. About our family, we have 3 daughters, Mariah who lives in Ashland, Oregon where she graduated from SOU, Molly, who lives in the next town, is married and going to UAA, and Daisy who just graduated H.S. in 2007. She is taking a year off and enjoys snowboarding in the winter and enjoys hikes, kayaking, camping, and mud fights in the summer. Daisy is in Hawaii right now working on our Mac-nut farm on the Big Island, near Pahoa. She will begin college at UAA in the Fall of 2008.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have had only one true couch surfing experience with 2 teachers and a 7 month old baby from Oregon who stayed the night. It was wonderful. They walked the Labyrinth and joined in the meditation that we usually have on Sunday mornings at the Studio behind the house.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
MIke and Tammy have ran two awesome Alaskan rivers, the Alatna & the Kobuk up in the Brooks Range. It was amazing to not see hardly a soul for two weeks. Tammy Ran the Grand Canyon with girl friends for her 50th B.D. 2005. In 2007 she had an amazing trip to India staying in an Ashram on the Ganges, then traveling on to Nepal to hike the Himalayas, and white water rafted the RAPTI River. 1979 Tammy spent 6 months in Kenya, with 10 weeks with NOlS (National OUtdoor Leadership School)and latter volunteering at Masia Mara with Hyena research. It was my dream to work with wild animals. Mike has spent time in Columbia living with locals doing medical research back in Med. school. We both enjoyed SCUBA diving in Boniare and Belize. The reefs were magnificent!
