ABOUT ME

I travel. I spent the last eight years in Asia. Wandering about not unlike some camelid beast who has lost his master. Would have said simply camel, but since coming here to South America I have developed a special affinity for Lamas. They're cuter, huh? So, I´m doing an exhaustive country by country comparative study of street food.

likes: high places, surfing, Bolivian and Ethiopian peanuts, sakura mochi, Californian, Mexican and Peruvian avocados, tea, chou tofu, soba shochu

dislikes: unskilled bicycle mechanics, imperialism, long-winded anti-imperialist rants, cracking a peanut shell and finding a shriveled undeveloped peanut, avocados that look ripe but really aren´t

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If I ever have a home I find travellers and invite them to my place. If they exercise restraint or are worried about imposing I offer them every manner of warm or cold beverage at my disposal, entertainment or educational opportunities, whatever it takes to convince them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Oh, I remember the time when those Harari guys invited me into their hut. Goodness the Khat in Ethiopia is strong, and we chewed plenty. They filled the whole place with smoke of myrrh so thick we could harldy see one another across the three meter expanse of the hut. The sister was feeding me peanuts by hand like some lap dog, and the coffee was flowing. I can still envision the wall covered in photos of Westlife and Backstreet Boys torn from somne teeny bobber magazine fitting decor for a pleasure chamber such as this. As the night wore on out came the drums and the rest is no doubt in the process of being interwoven in the new oral history of Africa.
