ABOUT ME

We are two teachers. We love life, laugh at everything, and wake up smiling. We enjoy waking up having a good workout, eating a beautiful breakfast, and coming home and having a couple of beers. On weekends, we laugh even harder. We have lived in Mt Morgan 15 years and love to show our little Australian town off to the world.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is
"ill do all my sleeping when i am dead."
There are not enough hrs in the day to do what i need to and what i want to. If i am asleep i could be missing out on a new experience. My aim is to make the smallest footprint on our planet by not being a rampant consumer of useless products. I recycle reuse, salvage, save anything i can. I have an interest in environmental politics and am passionate about saving the planet. I have many friends and many more i am yet to meet. Just waking up in the morning is a fabulous day already "Joie De Verve" " lust for life" and "live the life you love, love the life you live" is my highest creed that i try to infect everyone i meet with. I am not ageist it doesnt mater if people are young or not it is about attitude to life. Im not " the glass is half empty" sort of person. Im a " hey excuse me thats not my glass, mine was bigger and had much more in it".

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been hosting people even before i new about this site. I love meeting new people and go out of my way to know them and offer assistance if i can. I am always dragging travelers home from our local pub to throw down a bed or share a meal. I love cooking. It is not about a free place to stay or cheap meal etc it is about new experiences finding out what people think and how they feel about the world. I always pick up hitch hikers when i can cause i think one day i will be hitching. Couch surfing for me is about showing compassion, love and laughter to total strangers. We have hopefully enriched peoples lives by meeting them whilst in turn experienced views and ideas from around the world. Maybe if everyone became couch surfers and hosts the world would be a better place, through the spread of love and kindness. Sometimes i meet surfers and i think "wow this is why i host, to find out about others lives in their countries, their political and social experiences and world views"

Iinterested in so many things here a just a few motorcycling, motorcycling and motorcycling, Astronomy, gardening, cooking, seed saving, aquaponics, saving the environment, furniture restoration, photography, music of just about every description jazz, punk, ska
reggae, swing, blues, celtic, tribal, world music. Leadlighting, building house renovation, lanscaping, and of course reading and writing. Bird watching is a passion so is endangered fish conservation.

my favorite movie is easy rider. I don,t particularly like watching television as i sometimes think it is used to formulate public opinion and sell us crap we do not need. I like reggae music, gypsy jazz, rock, Celtic punk, anything that makes me scream out at the top of my lungs and jump around.

Once i fixed a car with a stick.
Another time was sitting in my car at a set of lights, when a truck pulled up with an african elephant on the back. Its trunk came through my window and he stole an apple off the dash board. Ask me more not enough space.

I have a huge number of interests and skills and i am skilled in many fields of endeavour. I can pass skills on to anyone who is interested. I am an accomplished gardener, cabinet maker, builder, plumber, gasfitter, and i also do food preserving, canning pickling etc. I make awesome pizzas from basics. I also love to learn from others, and question them about their country like a curious child.
