good pop, john coltrane, sun-ra, free-jazz, the kings of men - john fahey, robbie basho. gil scott heron, 90's east coast hip hop, doom, folk, raga, mbv, post punk, bad brains, black flag and so on. outsider/weirdo/noise/drone tape trade, arty nonsense stuff etc etc. the old man and the sea by earnest hemmingway is perhaps my favourite book. the outsider - camus, kaftka, milan kundera, vonnegut etc.
