ABOUT ME

I studied abroad about 8 years ago in college and have been traveling ever since. After college, I joined the Peace Corps and taught English in Azerbaijan for two years. I moved to Uganda about a year ago and lived/worked there for six months. I love exploring new places through food, music, art, and people. One of my favorite things about traveling is walking around and getting lost - I think it's the best way to learn about a new place.

I'm from a pretty small town in Ohio and I think it really helped me generate a sense of curiosity about the world.

I'm currently a graduate student studying public policy and social entrepreneurship. I also work full time...I'm pretty busy but I love it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've used CouchSurfing to find hosts in East Africa, Honduras, and Eastern Europe. I've always had great experiences. Sadly, living in New York City means I have a very small apartment and haven't been able to host anyone here yet, but while I lived in Azerbaijan (2006-2008), I hosted a few travelers. It's always nice to meet someone new and hear their story.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Wonderful. I've stayed with a lot of people and hosted a few too. My favorite part is getting to know someone new.

I ride the subway everyday to work in Manhattan and I swear I see something amazing every time. Not necessarily in a good way, but amazing nonetheless.
