CURRENT MISSION

Transitioning to life and work in Silicon Valley after 8 years living in Mexico City.

In Mexico I cofounded Conversari Global to help leaders and organizations be more effective with soft skills. Mission is always to follow the heart or deeper mind to be and do what it needs to do. In 2009 this meant go to India instead of grad school. Later, as an entrepreneur in Mexico City, it wanted me to study an MBA at Cornell. Now it is leading me to California :)

ABOUT ME

hmmm. about me. Well, I grew up traveling--usually Europe to USA and back every year--and so it seems quite natural to end up on the couchsurfing website!

Meditation, art stuff, and climbing on rocks are good things to me. I enjoy sharing and connecting with different people around the world. Giving makes the heart happy...

I am a youthful guy of 39, respectful, open-minded, an enjoyer of conversations and new experiences, always eager to learn more about myself and the world. I love learning

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have used Couchsurfing in Nepal, Texas, Chicago, and Vancouver, and I was a host (under my housemate's name) for a year in Mexico City. I am a big fan of the idea of Couchsurfing, and I feel that the project parallels my lifestyle in a quite uncanny way.

As I cannot host at the time (living in a full house with inlaws), I will gladly take part in the reciprocal flow of sharing by doing services for hosters (dishes/cleaning/yard/building work/etc.), taking folks out to dinner, or by graciously accepting a gift and paying forward to others elsewhere when I can...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My favorite story:

In 2007, at the end of a road trip through the Western US states, i bring my last German friends to the airport in Denver and have $35 left to get to Oregon. I have a credit card, but that doesn't feel good and I am reading Pema Choedron's "When Things Fall Apart" and feel that I must do the right thing. So I cut the card up, drive to Boulder with most of the rest of my gas, sleep in the park, and look for jobs.
Well, a fellow traveler slips me an unsolicited 20, which turns out to be enough for me to buy the steel-toed boots that i need to show up to a construction job the next day.
After about a week of hard work and great times in the Colorado fall sunshine, a snowstorm is about to hit, and the bathrooms close in the park that i am sleeping at. As I cook dinner on my gas stove by my car, a stranger walks by with her dog, talks to me for 5 minutes, and asks me to housesit her house and take care of her dog for the coming week while she teaches Yoga out of town!...

I enjoy helping people feel empowered and to discover sources of energy and engagement in their jobs. I enjoy following through and developing a creative idea, backpacking, meditation, impromptu singing of the blues around a campfire somewhere, the practice and sharing of creative writings, driving to smooth electronic music like Bonobo, the smile of a pretty girl...
