About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Growth, Presence, and not being too Serious

ABOUT ME

It seems built into me that I need to do creative things, so that's what I mostly do. If I forget to do some kind of music, improvising, sketching, writing, or wordplay, I get an insatiable itch in my core, and I can't rest until I've created something. Anything.

PHILOSOPHY

Think for yourself

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed in order to get an insiders view of towns I travel through, and I host anytime I have a good living situation to share.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience was during a completely unplanned trip to vermont where I couchsurfed on the coattails a friend who'd used the site it a few times. We met some of the most interesting and relaxed people I've come across and the experience has forever changed my attitude and methods of travel. Next, I hosted a handful of incredible people traveling through Jackson WY. Every experience has been positive and memorable.

Interests

Ping Pong, Non-insane Rock climbing, conversing with hobos, eating edible plants in the woods, gardening, Meditation, Improvising on instruments I don't formally understand, paying attention to dreams, being helpful, any kind of collaborative art.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Big Fish, What's eating Gilbert Grape
Music: Muse, Radiohead, Dave Matthews, Steve Reich, a very creative band called "Why?"
Books: Conversations with God, Jonathan Livingston Seagull (or anything Richard Bach)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming amongst Bioluminescent plankton in the sea off the Baja Penninsula. Your arms glow when you paddle.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a good understanding of music theory and technique on guitar. I can make (and teach you to make) a menagerie of balloon animals, and I know some fun improvisation and memory games.
